Needed to use Uber because of a flat tire. Short trip pool now cost $12. Driver picked up two other passengers and i arrived 30 minutes late. Dropped off 4 blocks from home instead of usual 2. Not a big deal except that 4 steep uphill blocks home. As i understand it, driver will get 80 cents for second and third passenger, while Uber keeps the rest. Uber is evil. I deleted the app and will walk through the rain before i use it again.

Not cheap, but nothing was saved by moving my drop spot two blocks and raising the price $2.00. My primary objection is the mistreatment of drivers.

I mean whatever it is. It is not what it was a few weeks ago and the price went up.

And by the way, i have never had a bad Uber drivers. All of them have been friendly, hard working people. Nothing pisses me off more than the way Uber abuses it's drivers. They deserve better.

If you cared about Uber drivers you wouldn't select pool.
If you need to be somewhere on time pool is definitely not the correct option.

No .. It was you who made mistake. Uber pool will always make you walk. Keep in mind that. If your location is at steep and hill, Never ask for pool ride. Uber algorithm calculate the route depending on location of other riders. You are opted out to walk 5 or 10 mins by choosing this pool ride.
There is not significiant amount difference between pool ride and X ride. Please never every chose pool ride. Uber will always make it Express pool. I complained Uber about the changes but charging me without deduction. Uber always say No.
It was not driver's fault. He doesn't know where you wanted to go. Uber algorithm told him where to drop you off.

I had once ordered Pool ride which was just $1.25 difference from X ride. I just wanted to get experience of pool ride myself and wanted to tip driver good. But I was trying to avoid Expresspool which was significantly less fares rate than pool.
Guess what. Uber algorithm changed my pool request to Expresspool and It made me walk about 6 mins. Plus, I paid as a pool ride. When I complained it to Uber, they just gave me a link to study. :confusion::confusion::confusion:

Too bad the experience didn't meet your expectations. You did help the planet by sharing the ride, and that little bit of exercise not only saved you some green, but was good for your health....and not to judge, but if 2 blocks has you on the floor it might just be the training you need.

You ended your rebuttals on a positive note. But.. You still took pool and thought the drop point can be changed.
As i understand it.. Drop point when doing pool can not be changed. Everyone gets out at the last stop.
I dont do pool. The concept is good. But the actual use of it is flawed heavily.
And then.. Entitled pax like you who.. "Care about the driver and hate how uber pays them..." But then takes pool cause its cheap...and then complains about your cheap service.... If you want x service.. Get uberx.
The fact is.. You requested uberride... And got uberride service. Enjoy the long walk to your house.
In texas we dont have pool.
Im unaware of the difference between regular pool and express.

I thought pool (either one) youd have to walk to meet driver and then walk to you destination since pickup and droppoff is. ..which why im surprised the OP wasnt aware he was going to have to walk... Or wait for other pax to enter car...aplogies for my misunderstanding.
I fear for our pay now that uber is publicly traded... And failing.. Meaning.. They need to raise stock value to make shareholders happy meaning....wont be surprised if they cut our pay/commision even further and raise pax price so they can... Be profitable for the shareholders :/ awwwwwssssooommmeeeee....
