Was another good start to the weekend and on this final day of football regular season the Giants play Eagles at 4:25.
Funny thing is the Giants have nothing to lose or gain on this game.
They have the #6 seed in the playoffs and will not move from that spot.
The Eagles on the other hand would benefit from a win.

These are not your father's shocks and struts.
I can only believe that the quality and engineering must be much more advanced then in the days when they needed to be replaced every 150k.
Same thing with mufflers and catalytic converter they seem to be lifetime parts that never need replacement.
Last winter I had to replace the heat exchanger which cost me a grand.
I'd love to know your experience with shocks and struts as I'm amazed at the longevity of mine.

I have settled into that post holiday period where people are shopped out and out of money.
Daytime driving will always be steady although I will see a slight reduction in profit untill st. Patrick's day when things pick up.
I have an oil change coming up and will probably use VIOC because I don't need tire rotation or maintenance.

Probably very close to my Ford Focus because they're same size/class cars. Give or take a grand if you use reasonable quality parts and pay someone to replace.
I have an appointment at Goodyear for oil change and going to have them check shocks and struts and give me a quote

That's a good call if you plan to keep the car for another 50-100k miles. Otherwise let it slide.
Worn out struts and shocks will reduce tire life. Worn out struts will increase braking distance.

that is likely a set.. so either 2- front or 2- back. Cst will vary per shop of course. Also depends if other parsl ike strut mounts, bushing, bumpers etc.. are worn.
I wouldnt go and replace just one unit though. Only do it as 2 front or 2 back or all.

I see recommended replacement intervals as low as 50k miles and as high as 100k miles. It honestly depends heavily on where and how one drives. But even granny driving in the best of conditions will max out by 150k miles. Obviously it's an extremely gradual degradation so most people don't notice or feel it. It's not like they simply break one day and cause a breakdown.
