Well I'm working breakfast this morning and I get this UberEats ping. Go to the restaurant and pickup the order. It only took a few minutes. Start the trip and the Uber App gives a navigation error. I reset the app and get the same error. So I look up the address it's an address in Highland Park. There is no drop off point on the Uber map so I type the address into my GPS and my GPS can not find the address. I know that we have a place call Highland and it's just north of the MSP international airport between Minneapolis and St Paul but without an exact address and the fact that it's a 15 minute drive from where I picked up the order decided to I called the customer to get an exact address. This is what happened.

I call the girl.
She answers.
I tell her that I'm her Uber delivery person and that I can not find her address.
She tells me that the last driver could not find her either.
I ask for her address.
She give me a different address then what the app has.
I'm thinking "Oh... Great another wrong address"
I look it up and my GPS can not find it. I tell her that my GPS can not find that address.
She then tells me the address is off campus it might be hard to find.
I'm thinking "Oh... Great another college student that doesn't have a clue where they are at"
I ask her what school she is going to.
She tells me it's the Southern Methodist University but that is not where she is at she is in Highland Park.
I tell her that I have never heard of the Southern Methodist University.
She tell me that it's easy to get to it's just north of downtown.
So I type Southern Methodist University into my GPS.
My GPS has found one in Texas.
I ask her are you in Dallas Texas?
She replies "What kinda stupid question is that?"
I ask her again and tell her that my GPS can only find one Southern Methodist University and it's in Dallas Texas.
She is angry now and she loudly replies "Yes it's in F...king Dallas Texas!!!"
I calmly tell her that she ordered food from Minneapolis Minnesota and it will take me about a week to delivery it.
.... Long Pause .... (It was almost 2 minutes)
She told me that she was sorry for yelling at me.
I told her that she should call Uber and cancel so that she doesn't get charged for the order.
3 or 4 minutes later the order is cancelled by Uber.

Anyway the food was still hot. Blueberry pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, white toast, breakfast sausage and bacon in the first box box ham and cheese omelet, hashbrowns, wheat toast and breakfast sausage in the second box. It was Yummmy. It's was a great breakfast so Thanks Uber!!!

What if a driver decided to complete the delivery because they had nothing better to do?
He would get one of these.
Customer Complaint said:
Late to dropoff

This feedback means your delivery was late to the customer. They rely on you to be timely with their order, so if you're running behind you may want to contact them through the app.

After that rude outrage , I would respond "Ok I know where you are at I'll be there shortly" Then call Uber to have the order cancelled on the idiot lol

In my Eats days, I had this happen 4 times. Living in Vegas, people will use Uber a lot - both for food and rides - and somehow it doesn't always update their location when they get home..? Never did figure out what causes it. But several times i would show up at the deliver address and nobody's there, call and they're like, you're where? And I would tell them and they'd say - um, that was my AirBnB in Vegas, and I'm like, where are you now? Atlanta/Memphis/San Francisco... LOL

Always enjoyed the meals...

Do you realize if you had just called uber and told them it was a far delivery, asked them to call the customer the rep would have told you to go to cancel, hit customer unavailable, and then cancel. Happened to me on 1 away hour delivery and a 2 hour away about a month ago.

What if a driver decided to complete the delivery because they had nothing better to do? I would love to hear that conversation with support.

Seems like a straight shot. Lol
If he would have just let uber call customer and then tell him to cancel as I said in previous post, he would have $800.00.

Now before you say the phone service person would have figured it out, remember the calls are outsourced and they don't look at maps.

Not buying it. Lol. Show us the proof. Furthermore I will attempt this next time it happens to me. Screenshot or not.

EDIT: Come to think about it, this has never happened to me. Ive never had a customer order from a restaurant in the wrong city and actully put in their current location.

When I hire someone at the restaurant where I work I'll always ask the person one of these two questions.

What kind of person are you?
How would you describe yourself?

Just because Uber's support people are incompetent does not mean I should take advantage of them. That is the kind of person I am.

Technically speaking, it's not taking advantage at all. The customer ordered from a certain location and they input their current location. If the food is picked up and undeliverable, then we get paid for what ever the predetermined fare would be. No one is required to ask for less pay and furthermore (Yesss, I got to use furthermore twice in one day) they screw us over all the time.

Ever show up to a pick up and get told the food has already been picked up?

It's policy, that's all it is. Don't hurt your hand patting yourself on the back with all your self adoration

I know you guys are right. It's policy..... but.....

Don't you think Uber would not look at this one? Maybe a few red flags here?

This $50 dollar order cost them over $1000 (The delivery would be this high because of the boost and I did the math)

I don't even know how this is even possible. If they put their correct address in the app, how does Uber display restaurants in another state? If they put the wrong address in Uber would just ask you to deliver to the address and mark the order undeliverable.

Even if Support can't see a map, they would at least notice it's a different state. They would have to be on an entirely new level incompetent to allow a driver to mark that one undeliverable and get paid the full fair.

I think what happens is that if you order food from a place that has the same name in different cities the app can not tell the difference. Here is the links to both locations.

The customer is located in Highland Park Texas >>> Link to Google Map Highland Park Texas <<<
The area between Minneapolis and St Paul called Highland >>> Link to Google Map Highland Minnesota <<<

In the Texas map you can see the college that this girl goes to. It's north of downtown Dallas Tx just like the girl told me.

It might be the same bug in the app where the street number and names are the same in different cities. Here in Minneapolis/St Paul we a road call University Ave. >>> Link to University Ave <<< From the north to where it ends it goes though Fridley, Columbia Heights, North Minneapolis, Industrial Park, Dinky town, Prospect Park, Midway, Summit University and St Paul. Sometimes the app sends you to the wrong location. I don't know why but that is just the way Uber is.

The only bug I wish Uber would fix is the Midtown Greenway bug. >>> Link to Midtown Greenway <<< Back 20 years ago the railroad removed the railroad tracks and the roads that were next to the railroads and this area got converted to a bike and running path. If a house or building is close to the Midtown Greenway the Uber app wants you to drive on it to make your delivery. Well you just can't do that.

Uber eats is a technology company that can't do technology.
Ding Ding Ding.... We have a winner!!!!

You are 100% correct. The Uber App has some problems. Maybe what Uber should do is have the customer verify the address is correct. Maybe a quick pop up when the customer completes the order. Do you want it delivered to ...whatever the address is...? >> Yes it's Good << or >> No let me fix it <<
