280 in fares and tips. 20 cash tip. 60 cash ride (picked up wrong people and they offered). 45 quest. $405 Plus $200 from Friday. Just a typical Saturday I got a little lucky.

240 miles.

Feels good.
Very nice. One of the cool parts about this gig is that you never know what your gonna make. I drive similar hours and weeks but the money varies depending on how I decide to play the game that week or day.

Hell yeah it feels good, nice job!! I'm in a busier market with less dead miles I think but $50 an hour gross is an awesome day for me.

i totally disagree with you never know what you will make. 8 years driving. i have a range each will i will hit , every week . its not luck. its called hard consistant work..sorry but real.
how could i run this as a fulltime business and not know what each week will bring in...

It really depends on the market. You are in a large city and doing a premium service. In my area volume is probably 10 or 20 times higher on Friday or Saturday night. Even then there are some really bad weeks (July 4th everyone goes to the beach, Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks suck, summer generally a little slower) and some fantastic weeks (obviously NYE, first and second weekend of classes, ...). There are times where you couldn't make $20 an hour if you ran people over, grabbed their phone and booked yourself a ride.

So sure I have an idea of what I'll make but it's based on my understanding of the conditions and when I should be driving. My income varies wildly because I will only go out fishing when the fish are running. It probably ranges from $400 to $2000 a week but I shift to other things when the rides aren't there.

I am in school and doing uber 25ish hours/wk. $400 on a Saturday is killing it around here for eight hours. It is usually considerably less.

This is a throttled market, especially considering its summer (and the economy) so you have to drive when the trips are.

If you live in a major metropolitan area where trips aren't throttled, your earnings are only limited by your ambition. Congratulations, you live in a good market.

My goal is to keep my hourly earning above a certain threshold. Grinding out more hours when it is throttled, just makes the job worthless.

I am 99% certain that your strategy would not work in my market.
