We will see an end to this at some point, the effects will stagger on for a while though.

I do construction, today I went out and looked at some jobs , we are still open but practicing safe distancing etc and trying to keep the ball rolling as we are exempted from work stoppages( for now)

Some jobs have been temporarily put on hold but a lot are still biz as usual, the overall economy is still strong and consumer confidence is still high, if you let it bring you down you will go down with it.

I can go on and on but the food shortage ( besides TP and some other items) is still fine, I was just at vons and it looked fully stocked but didn’t look at the meats( went straight to the beer).

But to get to my point...you need to really take a look in the mirror and adjust , drivers need to be diversified more than just relying on bar drunks and airport rides.

Uber rides for the most part are not necessary for most people , start thinking about what is necessary in the world and go from there, I have a class A commercial license but haven’t needed to drive in years, right before all this I renewed my medical card and it’s now active again just Incase I need to drive for my company or someone else.

I took one of the semis out for a couple hours to practice today just Incase , I still can do it no problem. BACKUP PLAN.

Get a class A license, learn a trade that is needed like plumbing or whatever, stop relying on income from non essential BS jobs that can end at the drop of a hat.

We can live without a bar but can’t live without running water.. get the picture?

Yes you will have to stop smoking weed all day , yes it will cost you money to better yourself, yes it won’t be easy but this should be a slap in the face to every driver from pool to LUX SUV.

Good luck to all it’s gunna be a brutal summer with everyone trying to get back on their feet, concerts and bars will be the last to rebound.

Right now if it was me I would be delivering food or find a niche that people may need, nobody wants to go out at the moment so maybe run and ad to do shopping for someone etc.

Good luck to all.. just my 2 cents and I wish you all the best

We will if we let it, positive thoughts result in positive results. Not saying it's going to be rapid but it will rebound after everyone figures out the world isn't ending.

I will be the first to admit I panicked, WAY over bought on stuff and now I'm fully stocked, just keep these words in the back of your mind when things are good again and you think your back on top of the world doing surge rides.

I'm a lot calmer today after talking with some of our customers, some aren't worried one bit.

I predict a short term recession. Everyone's already talking about the cure being worse than the disease and getting things back to normal. With that kind of pressure, and since this is a medical cause and not a financial cause, I think there's a fast snap-back, although maybe not a full recovery on the near horizon.

I also see the stay-at-home orders and business closing orders being loosened over time, probably starting in a few weeks in order to restart the economy.

If they find any drugs that will treat CV (they're thinking the malaria drugs might), then I think things accelerate even sooner.

This is my opinion, I may be wrong, but I'm still optimistic. And as I type this, Trump is speaking about a drug that seems to have helped someone that was severely ill from CV. So, we'll see.

They are starting that drug tomorrow, heard an interview today and a woman came on that was having bad symptoms and had some of that drug on hand from a previous illness

she said she took it and it went away... who knows but the French says it looks promising

I would say I am hopeful but not optimistic.
Too many ninnies in the world today.
The longer the shut down lasts, the longer the recovery will take.

Well jeez-- I posted a possibility about the malaria drug hours ago, before he spoke, but nevertheless glad your optimistic, and I think you're right. I don't see this recession effecting everyday people will be as bad as it's made out to be. Most will go back to work, stores will be re-opened, food will be served, liquor will flow in abundance, etc... The ramifications to the stock market when earnings season comes around will be a different story for investors and company profits. Nothing which won't be turned around in a few months.

Gotta love a construction worker doling out advice on how to drive to drivers.

Best part: "economy is strong" .

Okay buddy.

That drug has serious side effects. It can cause serious arrhythmia and make people die instantly.

Take it or leave it I don't care, so you think you are above a construction worker ? You have no idea what I make.

Or ... people die instantly. If I was dying I would try why not?
