Looks like uber has done a good job recruiting new drivers before >2009 vehicles expire. Alot of uber drivers on the road lately. Cant wait till march 31st...

Why though? Ive been ubering since last july and its been decent to good every day i do it. Its only recently the past couple weeks or so where theres been considerably less amount of ride requests...Atleast its always great fridays and saturdays still. Is there any reason to believe it wont be better by end of the month?

Vehicles 2009 and older expire and cant be driven for uber. I can imagine there will be many who won't even bother to buy a newer model car, considering how slow its been lately. Theoretically, aftrr march 31st there should be a lot less drivers on the road, more fares for rest of us.

Left Mississauga from Winston Churchill Boul. Put destination to Toronto and got one ping of 7.77$, then drove around Bloor and Duffering and finally went to Young and put destination back to Mississauga and got a ping to Pearson.

Brutal , I'd say if you live in missauga gtfo of there early morning !, I'm not gonna tell you where to drive et all (I know you didn't ask) but you gotta come up with a better game plan , I will say one thing though , if I'm in Oakville at around 6/7am , 7 out of 10 get a ride to dwntn Toronto , easy $30 , set destination to Toronto of course then snake back out . Give it a try if your close to there

Set your destination feature to missauga if you like drive just west of the core , don't take Gardiner or lakeshore , take king across to Queensway snake back out that way , chances are you'll do a bit better .

I hope it works for you , just remember if your not making money you gotta shake it up a bit . Your probably one of the few newer guys that don't cop an attitude and ask exactly how to do this shite etc so I wish you good luck, cheers .

Because of all the controversy involving Uber in the news this past month. This is affecting ridership to some degree.
And because they are aggressively recruiting new drivers. 2009 cars probably account for a few % of Uber's fleet (it's not a linear distribution of model years, so it's hard to know the exact %). It's probably a trivial number compared to the rate of new recruits signing on. They want every driver to bring in 4 new drivers. They give out $100's on top of that all year round. They are saturating the market until it is filled with desperate people willing to drive for a dollar or two's profit per hour.

Is that just in Oakville? I've only been driving in Miss/Brampton and rolling in a 2008 Sienna.
