I think we'll become even more saturated with drivers who need to be able to afford to live. Raising the minimum wage will help those who have jobs that give them a big raise. But people currently in the $15 to $25 range won't get equivalent raises and will need to find ways to supplement their incomes.

And with a new influx of potential drivers, Uber and Lyft will lower prices even more so we can supposedly make more money.

It would lower the quality of the drivers and cars to taxi levels. Regarding quantity, I would guess there would be enough drivers, as there are many thousands of unskilled laborers with poor language skills that cannot land those minimum wage jobs but can drive for Uber.

I would apply to be a Wal-Mart Greeter, part-time, but, if the wage reaches that level, I expect that Wal-Mart will not be hiring Greeters. Too bad, there is one just up the street from where I live, here.

Wal-Mart was supposed to open five stores in the District of Columbia, but backed out of building the last two after it saw that the City Council and the Mayor had come out in favour of the fifteen banana minimum. The previous Mayor vetoed a similar measure, that was directed at larger operations such as Wal-Mart specifically because he saw what would happen. The across-the-Board fifteen dollar minimum has not been put into effect in D.C., yet.

It is even worse because the City seized land, in an abuse of Eminent Domain that Kelo vs. New London now allows, for one of the Wal-Marts that will not be built. It put more than few small business owners out of business to allow a multinational to take their livelihoods. The City put these small business owners out of business for what is not absolutely nothing.

How skilled do you have to be to work a fryolater? Most fast food employees are immigrants with poor language skills. So what you're saying is you are biding your time as an uber driver until the paper hat job pays the $$$. At which time you are planning on Movin' On Up! Question...You must have a skill and a steady grasp of the English language so...Why are you wasting your talents and slumming as an uber driver?

I drove for Uber for a few months then quit because the pay was too low. I have a job.
