if you fix your own car its not so bad to fix it
and my wife really like buying used junker parts for 20 bucks i9nstead of 360$ at advanced auto

To make gas your biggest expense, use only cheap, inefficient, high mileage cars that last a long time and are easy to repair. Bring down depreciation costs as much as you can.
