What a mess.. dedicated lane on 4th E blocked by taxis.. pickup pin keeps defaulting to 5th.. people to lazy to walk.. 2 cancelled rides and finally after 30 minutes.. a ride to hillcrest.. yeah!

Thankfully spent the afternoon and eve across town actually making money before taking two AFC's downtown.

Taxis were purposely blocking the dedicated Uber lane?

First time I rode through early just to check out the set up to see what was going on a, couple taxis were sitting in the lane and then when I came back later to drop my guys from my above comment, another was parked in the middle refusing to leave.
The lane was setup nice, worked well as you just kept rolling forward slowly from broadway all the way to the parking garage. it was gettimg off 4th that was the mess for everyone wanted to go left rather than loop around via market and 1st.

A group of four guys asked me at the front of the line if I'd take em to Carlsbad. Can't, you gotta use the app. So they spent 10 ish minutes figuring out which one of them had the app on their phone, updated their card on file and requested a ride standing next to my car. mind you I've now been sitting there, online for 20 minutes after my two cancels still waiting for a ping.. take a guess who got that nice ride.. a newbie of course who was 4 blocks away.

Shit like that is why I'll never again take part in events like this. As Esco said. Let the newbs deal with that garbage.

I enjoyed a night of sleeping n my warm comfy bed knew it would suck every time Uber and Lyft put out the big call it kills it for all.
I rolled outa there at 1230 ish, hit La Posta for some carne after dropping my pax and then home and in bed before 1.
I had already hit the 100 mark by 11pm so wasn't like I needed to stay out.
