I've been getting pool trips assigned to me before I finish a regular Uber X trip and there's no way to decline. ????
mandatory pool trips?

Not sure how that would work, I've never taken a trip that I didn't actively accept. Glitch in the app?

I doubt it's a glitch, its something Uber picked up from Lyft, something Lyft does all the time

I've done this before and there are still several instances where fubar still assigns me another trip.

yes there is.
After your drop off you can always cancel the trip.

I've never had that happen on Uber but Lyft often just adds a ride to your queue. If the added ride is too far away or a Line ride I usually just go online with Uber and start driving away until the Lyft rider gets the idea and cancels. Lyft has sent me a few notices in the app reminding me to drive towards the pickup location, however.

Yeah; it's one thing to have to go back in and stop additional requests for pool rides but if you have to do it for every ride, that will be a P.I.T.A. That's like having to take a screen shot of every request to make sure they pay the surge. It may be a good idea but not very practical.
