Hello guys ,

Just to inform you about airport surge pricing after 1 am .
Really? ? ? Doesn't sound right or smell right when you don't see any cars hanging around the area. Uber or Lyft.
I had a call last night and as soon as I entered the middle lane , 3 metro police cars pulling aside all cars on outer lane for inspection .
They're on to the pick up spots.
At least 5 drivers got caught .
This was around 12 and 1 am .
Be careful.

I do late night airport service . I talk to some other drivers and we stay connected.
It's important to look out for one another cause you never know what might be waiting .
Postings on this Miami city forum are essential for functional operation and much needed information.
I got your back and you got mine
You'll find a lot of good valid tips about where to be or not to be on any given night if you're smart and well in formed.
DO your research and drive with effectiveness.
Save time and gas and keep your cool .

Sometimes, when I get a fare up to ft. Lauderdale . Easy airport to work in.
Fast terminal return.
But Broward cops are kinda more on their game . Gotta be quick and try not to do too many returns in the same day .
They're good with cars and faces.
A lot of limo drives in that airport . Don't let them see you or park near them .
The cell phone waiting area is their turf .
You need to tint your windows and don't park near them.
You don't want them to see your tag . They'll hand it in to BSO. (Their amigos)
Then you're under watch.
It sucks to play cloak and dagger , but it's a must needed lesson as the new kid on the block.
Don't be discouraged . Airport rides mean $$$.
Had one the other day from MIA to the Breakers (WPB) , then back to HARD ROCK CASINO.
That was the big fish of the month .
3 hours later I called it the night and took the next 2 days off.

Yes I do . But that club is to well known my friend . (The spot)
I think the bouncers have been talking to metro .
I was there last night and all was cool until 1 am . Then the wolves came out .
Careful .
Call me later . It's me...BLACK CADILLAC

Hmmm...I decided to call it a night ...which cars got caught?
1 line I add to your TXT is
"As we are not %100 percent official yet, One thing I ask is that you do not stand anywhere near any airport official in a light blue shirt, or a hideous neon yellow vest."
So far this has worked pretty well for me as I have made at least 50 more MIA pickups since the night I got ticketed with no problems.

Although I had heard about Miami, I have not heard of any problems at the Ft Lauderdale Airport. Where did you hear/read about a Uber driver having problems there?
Well, well...just today was picking up a private client, curbside, Fort Lauderdale Airport. I enter the overhange at terminal 1, luggage level and lo and behold, there's a guy in black shirt, arms waving in the air. Apparantly I'm happening on the middle of this incident. He has his ticketbook clipboard in his hand and the driver and he are engaged. There are passengers, two or three, standing around this beautiful, (though I can't stand them), shiny, black Prius. No doubt in my mind, I'm witnessing, yet another, ticketing of Uber driver. As I slowly pulled on through, I was heading for terminal 3, I saw the same uniformed guy at the next terminal too. ***When I was approached by consumer affair guys 3 weeks ago, as the aforementioned post describes, they were plain clothes guys, not the blackshirts I saw today.

In summary...What I think is happening is a MAJOR effort to cite Uber guys...maybe even with the hiring of contractors for the sole purpose of spotting and citing Uber. Why? My guess is...they know Uber is paying for all citation... the municipalities will RACK UP on revenue. Always follow the money...it is worth their added staff and effort to give out these citations.

You won't catch me picking up Uber requests at airports... ANY of them.

it's legal in fort lauderdale airport you need your uber U sign top right of the dash and to pick the person up in the commercial area only not in the terminal. first day of ubering today was crazy, happened to be on the highway near airport, accepted a ping called him and got what he was wearing and the terminal, picked him up no problem.
