Look, who the f will accept this ride?

Lyft offers so many BS rides, then threatens you for not taking their BS rides. 2 declines and Lyft took me offline and closed the app. LOL
Lyft didn't honor a $5 bonus, so they lost hundreds by me not driving for them this weekend. Hope it was worth it to them. LOL
Lyft offered $21 streak but one ride request was airport pickup when I was at Resorts World. LMAO. Lyft is a joke.

Why not accept, take your time, see if they cancel or Lyft does a switcheroo on you?
Agreed.

If you're that concerned with acceptance and cancellation rates, run both apps, then just accept it and wait for them to get fed up and cancel.
In that particular case I didn't want it for a few reasons.

1. That area doesn't have many Premium rides (I only do Lyft Lux and Lyft Black) so I'd likely have another minimum 15 minute pickup after that trip was done.

2. The opportunity cost of being tied up for 20+ minutes means I'd be missing a worthwhile trip.

3. I don't do Uber. There's no Premier here and I can't set it for Comfort only.

I declined this gem

And my Acceptance Rate went to 89%. It took 40 trips to get it back to 90% so I could get trip info again.

What are you talking about? You only require 60 % acceptance rate to be able to see trip info? Mine is 69% and I keep it that way just because sounds good. Unless Lyft have different standards for drivers?

Update: wow wtf. I just noticed Lyft keep lowering their standards....
It was 60% last weekd and now just 50% !

I guess Lyft really want me the special 5 star driver? 🤪

That's only for the test program.

Normally you'd need to be platinum and that requires (I think) a 95% acceptance rate.

Personally, I've never worried about good/platinum and upfront details because I call the rider and get the details.

Saying that, it's been awful nice to see it before accepting these last couple of months. Saves me the hassle of calling them and cancelling.

It's almost like how independent contractorship is actually supposed to work. ALMOST.

Having destination info is useless if you can't do anything with it.

I mean, it really is useless.

On uber Select or Uber Black short rides really arn't that awful, as long as i'm not driving 20 minutes empty to pick them up.

I mean really, what good is it if I know that the ping I'm offered is only going 4 minutes down the road if I drive 20 minutes to get there.

It's exactly like being offered a lottery ticket, being told if it's a winning ticket, on the condition that you buy it regardless.

Saturday I was sitting at the airport at midnight hoping to get a high level service Uber ping (Black, SUV, ect). I already had a nice long airport chaffeur fare that went to Port Canaveral that really made my Day, burned a bunch of gas but whatever..

From the airport I got about 50 pings from Universal studios (20 minutes 16.8 miles away, and tolls, a no toll option would have been double the time/mileage.)

What are the ods that ANY of those 50 pings I got sent would have been worth driving 16.8 miles and paying tolls for?

Now if I was shooting for 90% acceptance rating, 9/10 I would HAVE to drive those 16.8 miles (plus tolls) to pickup whatever crap ping I got.

In case you can't guess... I kept my ass at the airport and got a $60 load taking the customer about 5-10 minutes further down the road than the DRIVE TO PICKUP the 50 pings I declined.

After dropping them off I drove up to universal and logged back in to accept pings. I immediatly got an XL ping that $15 + $6 surge, followed by more XL pings that paid between $5-10. + $3-5 surge.

But at that hour short XL pings paying $8-25 isn't bad. But coming from more than 10 minutes away is really bad.

High level uber pings surging when I paid the rental on my Luxury vehicle rental for the day on airport loads?
They arn't bad pings to take.

I ended up with half a dozen uber pings that (including surge) paid out $8-28. This is surging, from a huge event on a saturday night.

You think any o those would have been worth driving 17 miles (plus paying tolls) to get to the pickup location?

Yeah exactly zero of them. The $28 dollar one was a 7 mile SUV ping and included surge and a tip. If I had driven 17 miles to get there it would have paid out $28 for 24 miles in a ford Expedition....

Does $28 for 24 miles in a ford Expedition with surge and a tip seems like the right amount of money to anyone?
