I checked out $10 fee charged to a passenger I got $2.80. I just had a customer told me that they paid $15 for a ride I only received $3.80 of that. and going back a few months the same track record I keep finding out they're taking over around 60% or a little over of the Rideshare charge. I'm guessing everyone is getting ripped off when it's supposed to be around a 25% take that I understand

You understand incorrectly
How much the passengers pay has
NOTHING to do with how much you get paid

It used to be that way…like 4 years ago. Now both Uber and Lyft charge customers whatever they want. And pay us, whatever they want. The only way to “lower” their takes is to drive and hit surge/boost/quest/streaks/ride challenges.

Bro, that has been happening for awhile when they changed it from a % to "whatever the F we pay you, take it!"

As stated it used to be at 20/80 or 25/75 cut but that changed a few years back. I'm curious how you're able to check individual ride information on Lyft.
some drivers on here straight up ask PAX how much they paid for the ride. I mean I would imagine since they both now hide that information and make it hard to find that they have increased their average take per ride. I would’ve be surprised if there are times where they take 2 or even 3x what we are paid for certain rides (example, PAX pays $20, we get $5 or $10)

Correct an incorrect. Correct in the fact that your wage comes out of that same lump sum. Next thing you must ask yourself is Is it my business hpw much they charge? Of course not but 80% of drivers cannot accept that because of EGO. If it effects your well being too the point you post incessantly on UPnet I would say quit an move on. Just my two cents.

As has been said, what the pax pays has no relevance to our pay.
Lyft has two goals -- charge the pax as much as possible without losing too much ridership, and pay us as little as possible without losing too many drivers. Personally, I don't believe they are anywhere close to losing too many drivers or pax, so expect to see their rates continue to go up, and our rates continue to go down.
I can't speak for pax, but there are WAY too many drivers willing to accept these crap UFF's.

You can say it a million times and it'll still be BS.

Clearly you don't think like a business owner because no competent business owner, exec, or manager would ever say it's not relevant how the pie gets divided between them and another business they partner with on a business deal.

Even some W2 employees such as NFL players and UPS Teamsters drivers union care enough to make it part of the negotiation process.

Pax transactions are zero sum games. The more the company keeps, the less the drivers get.

Is that what the contract says?

Unless something's been changed in the newest contract Uber says the drivers are in a business relationship with the pax. Last time I checked a business relationship consists of the transfer of funds or other type of payment for goods or services rendered or for a trade.

Thus, the drivers not only have a right but also an obligation to themselves and their businesses to know exactly how much money, etc is changing hands between them as well as the amount changing hands.

The best way to put a stop to this crap is for the govt to step in and set minimum pay rates for drivers and maximum cut percentages of the gross revenue for the companies.

The Washington state govt has set new pay minimum pay rates for drivers that take effect in January. That's a start but it's not enough. They also need to implement a CAP on how much the companies can grab from every trip.

If what the pax pays is related to our pay, then why is Uber raising rider fares, but lowering our pay??
Rider pay SHOULD be related to our pay, but it's not.

Uber is lowering your pay because you let them. You don't have to drive for them. There are other options like driving a cab or driving truck. Until they get regulated by the states or governments they will never pay you what your worth and will continue to screw their drivers. The Post Office, UPS, FED EX are all options for you.

No regulation coming, figure it out, bankrupt yourself figuring it out, or find a new job.

lemme break it down for ya,,,,,,,,

rider pays Uber Lyft $150 to goto X, 25 miles away, let’s say with a $5 dollar bridge toll. Rider pays it cause rider is willing to bear the cost. Free Markets. Capitalism. Simple shit right.

now Uber/Lyft, send the ping out to drivers. 25 miles to X. Ping comes in $16 dollars. Nobody takes, ping comes back for $14 dollars cause the weak and panicked got desperate and it went even lower. Can’t blame Uber n Lyft for that. Free markets, capitalism.

Sounds like the government controlling the means of production. I wonder how hard it is to get an Uber in Venezuela? I bet the taxi drivers in NorthKorea are pulling in big $… The down side of living in a free country is you have to figure out what’s best for you and do it yourself. don’t be surprised in Washington example you noted if Uber starts requiring a driver to stay online a certain amount of hours or starts controlling when you can get online.( interesting to note the pay for UPS driver compared to a postal worker.)

Ya know, doing pretty well as a wheel man for years, but gotta say, with all the idiots roaming the streets and on here, the upfront pricing, and everything……..I’m a risk taker, especially doing this, my money is on stupid, basic arithmetic illiterate, just plain stupid. I’m looking for mid six figure numbers going forward FY23 and on. Always bet on stupid. Be like Walmart, targets, cvs, Walgreen, etc sucking up all the mom and pops. No shame here. Only the strong survive and the weak purged. Capitalism, the markets have spoken.
