I’m from South Carolina:
I received an email at 1:00am today informing me that I am suspended for six months. Today is the fifteenth day being blocked for a processing background check.
Inquiries to my third party background provider give no evidence of an open background check being processed. They send an email when a background check is initiated and a follow up when completed with a copy of all information disclosed.
I have received neither initial or follow up emails from them.
I suggest you not wait for the two weeks to pass before you reach out to Lyft. They may, or may not know that this is going on.
Email through the help contact page on the dashboard, initially, then respond once or twice a day to whatever generic answer comes back. Demand proof that a background check is actually processing. You won’t get them to give you that proof, but you need to start an email trail! Print out and save all correspondence back and forth.
Screen shot your info in the app! Screenshot proof of your last ride. Screen record the way that your app blocks you. Screen record your attempt to access your background check so that you can show that there is no background check processing.
When they have this under control and you need to be able to recover lost compensation, you’ll thank me. It’s a pain to do this everyday, but it’s for your own good.
