Looks like in near future whenever its surge pricing Uber will be telling passengers that if they wait a little longer the surge will be over and price will be cheaper.

But surge is why many driver is still willing to drive for uber, removing this there will be even less incentive to drive.

I'm not sure if it will make a big difference. Most riders I have spoken to know the approx price a ride should be and if it is a lot more, they tell me they wait a 5 or 10 min and try again. The only difference it would appear is tbe app would tell them exactly how long to wait.

If in the end, if it does mean less surge rides, then I just won't get off the couch. The money from uber is only gravy anyway.

Yeah I wouldn't even bother driving if there is no surge.

I've already drastically reduced my driving for rideshare from 50-60 hours down to 10-15. If Uber is stupid enough to ruin surge, which they clearly are, then I'm out. I'm almost looking forward to seeing what a shiate show this'll turn out to be.
