You can now rent a brand new London black cab in Sydney for $150 a day. Fares are equal to taxi rates so higher than UberX. They allow you to rent the vehicle to a second driver
Apparently they are already operating in Perth.
$150 a day is $1050 a week. While that is considerably less than a taxi, it is more than 3 times the cost of renting an Uber car.
If they have plenty of work, it might be worthwhile but to get established they would have to give away free rides to the public for quite some time.
