Just kinda wondering how much money is there to be made at Lollapalooza
Drive the right times and enough to not hste yourself for working for uber. Drive on the days with the biggest name performingJust kinda wondering how much money is there to be made at Lollapalooza
Put yourself in Tim's shoes for a moment. You're a guber employee working 80 hour weeks for 35k salary. Your only hope is this turd of a job eventually foists an IPO onto the pension funds so you can cash out your meager stock options and go back to working for the stirbucks, where at least they treat you as a human instead of a bot."...I'mon strike this week lol and i owe Uber 30 bucks for gas...i wonder if I go negative into next week, will they start charging me interest?
Yeah Tim is ****ing great! You can make good $. It will be very similar to the July 4th weekend, but better. By better I mean more $, more rain, more traffic, more... wet pax? IDK. I assume people will make a killin Fri through Mon. I'll definitely be in that hot mess, unfortunately. I only work weekends, so I'm not letting a concert or 2 scare me away from big earnings! That is what Tim, from Uber, promised me!
My rule of thumb.. If I make $20 per hour net driving, it's a success. It includes deadheading miles. In your case, it comes out under $20 per hour. Therefore it's not worth it.Friday, July 29, 2016
I delivered two passenger to Lollapalooza yesterday from Palatine. Earned $41 + a $10 Tip. (3 hours round trip)
Delivered 4 passengers from Wheeling to Lollapalooza today. Earned $37 + $3 Tip. (2 hours 30 min round trip)
Was it worth it? I'm still undecided. Made more than making 3 or 4 short runs from suburb to suburb each day,..but oh that Chicago traffic!
If Lyft's destination filter wasn't such a worthless piece of junk, I could pick up someone heading back out to the suburbs around 2pm, but that never happens. The dead-head drive back to the Schaumburg area is always longer than what it took to get to Lollapalooza. I think people are getting off work earlier and earlier. My rule of thumb.. And yeah.. Chicago traffic is brutal. 1 hour from loop to Ord is nuts!!
I agree. Uber is the same garbage. It's called a DESTINATION filter... but acts like a ROUTE filter. Annoying. I should be able to select multiple south suburbs, including mine, and have them only ping me with rides that are being dropped off in that vicinity. But the DF now blows and just wastes my miles and time.If Lyft's destination filter wasn't such a worthless piece of junk, I could pick up someone heading back out to the suburbs around 2pm, but that never happens. Why put 5 lane highways out here in the burbs, but only 3 lanes for the ultra-busy corridor to/from Ohare? No wonder business people hate flying into Ohare. I thought RAHM wanted more businesses and conventions in Chicago. Prior mayor destroyed Meigs Field airport. Oh well.. Chicago citizens keeps electing them, sooo....

Wow, that sucks. Brutal was right. That's why I am not out there for it.
Should've walked. Would've been faster
