So a thought came to mind.

I have a friend in SODO, real close to the fields with a decent sized venue space. I'd say around 3000 square feet. Or at least enough to fit over a hundred or so. We have been looking for ways to expand its use as it was a shop before, and has a little down time before getting back to operational. It's very nice. Resembles a classy lounge. Hardwood floors. Giant windows with tall ceilings. It actually reminds me of a upscale nightclub. Lol. Plenty of sectional seating throughout the area, and even a lot of room for a stage, so we could def. run sound and have speakers.

Does this sound like a good idea to run something weekly/bi-weekly/monthly? A place to actually meet each other and share ideas, stories, alerts, plans of action, petition, or even social events?

Open to ideas, and it's just sitting there waiting to be utilized. I think suggested donations would be appreciated, along with waivers so if you slip and fall it's on you. And we wouldn't be serving any food, alcohol, or condone drug use. But bottled refreshments and such I think we can swing.

Please. Share your comments and ideas. Centrally located so I think this would be a great idea!

I think a monthly meet-up would work, maybe even bi-weekly if you got enough people n was not a total cluster-**** ***** session. Sucks that it would have to be booze free as Im sure a few of us would love to put one or two back while socializing.

Well he said they can't serve alcohol. They may allow BYOB. That would be legal. No drug use though. ;)

Haha. Sounds like a fun crowd already. Three's company, but a few things before this becomes anything: I think at least 40 members at least would be worth the effort. There would need to be some sort of compensation for the owner. No drugs. No alcohol, no intoxicated people showing up. If you gotta get a buzz on before hand do it away from the property and in moderation so you won't have to be asked to leave. And would need some sort of formal structure so it stays constructive rather than a place to just hang out.

Open to any suggestions here, and need more members to rsvp so we can get something moving. I'll pass it on to the owner when we get a strong sense of who is down.

The anniversary party was not what it was made out to be. Hot dogs and soda was our dinner, and approx. 60/400 showed up.
Btw- is this platform created by UBER? Lol if so, they know exactly who is saying what, their email address associated with their "anon" profile, and are probably laughing at the people admitting to their actions towards riders that deserves the comments left on here. Lol. Be careful of what you say here (fish) they might find out about your Meth pipe!

Hope everyone makes good fares this weekend!

It's okay I personally only due meth Monday's - Thursday. But it keeps me driving non-stop until Sunday night. So Uber should be happy making all these rides for them. Lmfao.

Seriously speaking though, this site is not affiliated with Uber and Lyft. They obviously have spies I'm sure.

Luckily, I don't care. This is part time and if they deactivated me they probably do me a favor. I would say for them to go **** themselves. I make no attemp to hide they're a shitty company with how they run things.

I'm not even sure if we have 40 Seattle drivers in the UP site. At least active. Who knows.

You could always go to the airport queue and talk to the drivers there, you probably can find 100-200 there at a time during busy times.

I know sarcasm does not go well on the Internet, so Ill just clear it up and say I was joking and dont and never have had a meth pipe.

Id rather not have to pay a cover to go to a place where I cant have a drink with people I want to have a drink with, where a formal structure is being imposed. I applaud your efforts as I do believe some sort of meet-ups for UP is called for but sometimes is better to start small and more casual and build from there.

40 people to get to a event is quite a lot, I bet would be lucky to get 8, but who knows. As for numbers there was way more than 60 people at that Uber event. Clearly over 100, maybe 120ish.

Lol on the food, would have been nice to have a salad alternative or something, but hey I had two dogs and was happy. Im sure some dudes had like 15 of them.

I really dont care much about Uber knowing who I am. In fact the big boss that was there last night and some of her people have my card, not to hard to connect who I am here.

Id be more concerned for people who use their photo here. Not really from Uber, but from the Internet filth that preys on people by gathering data. There is no way Uber owns this forum. As for Uber lurking here? Yah most likely yes, but I wouldn't be surprised if they just chuckle at a lot of stuff and move on. They most likely are looking for those trying to bring the drivers together, charge then for things and then give nothing in return.

Im heading to Tacoma in a few weeks to escape the big city, should do that bar meet-up down there that was talked about and get a few drinks down!

Meetups are cool but always seem to be at a time when I'm either working or have my weekly game night with friends.
I'm on a couple of Facebook groups for Lyft/Uber drivers and there is a weekly meeting thing that they do but it's in Tukwila on a late Wed or Thurs night. I can't remember. I'm always driving home or already at home so that I can be up and at my day job by 830 am.
The airport lot is full of drivers for both Uber and Lyft as well as Facebook Groups. I'd suggest spreading word via those pathways.

I'm not sure there are enough users here. This board is pretty dead if you ask me.
I do enjoy reading it though.... I drive part time and with family and driving is there time for other stuff? I have close friends I haven't seen in months.
Good luck

Hell with Uber events, you all come to my house for booze, ribs and cigars. Be sociable and meet good folks, or maybe Seattle has become socially inept and I am being optimistic. Wont do 40+ knuckleheads tho, perhaps some of you regulars that can check in psychologically speaking would be good. Otherwise I am up for some social interaction somewhere....

Agreeing with some other remarks here: I'm in if it's a night when I don't usually drive. My recommendation would be Monday night, but could see Tues or Weds PMs working esp. if it's not a big booze-up.

I'd like to talk about the organizing side of things if it ever goes down; would be prepared to organize some preparatory opinion polling, drafting of a list of driver priorities, and the like.
