Always ask where you are going before accepting the ride. Per Uber you can cancel out of area. Beyond this, you have to think about the economics of driving back with no rider. I tend not to accept pings if the drive to a pax is 15 minutes or greater too.

I would never consider it unless pax tipped up front to cover the miles back. And that's probably against Uber TOS to suggest it.
A 90 mile ride to Laughlin at $1.85 a mile is $167 plus 30 cents per minute. Round trip is 3 hours. Overestimate gas at $35 leaves $132. Take out uber cut leaves $99. Comes to $33 per hour for easy traffic free ride. Yeah. I'd never consider doing that:p

It's the 90 dead miles for depreciation and wear/tear that you're missing in the math. Puts it closer to $25/hr? I'm not sure how much surge pricing is getting on the strip, but I guess I'd consider Laughlin.

What about the possibility of Cali or St. George requests. Are we even allowed to go cross state lines?

I would do that drive all day long as well. I sure don't think you'll do that jumping from hotel to hotel in traffic waiting for PAX. The dollar rider fee kills you on short rides as well.

BTW you forget to add the $27 in for the time charge in your $167 so you can add $9 per hour. I think you'll be hard pressed to do $65 an hour casino hopping unless you get a good surge.

Lyft is $200 max fare. Primm would probably be a great fare....stop at the M on the way back, and you have quick trips to nearest Henderson or Enterprise pings that are likely to be far trips themselves. And yeah make about $60 in the hour there and back.
