UBER IS STILL MISCLASSIFYING THEIR DRIVERS. Uber is still treating us like employees by forcing uber x drivers to accept uber pool trips and thus also forcing us to accept a pay cut.
uber sends uberx drivers uber pool trips and then decreases our pay from the base fare of $0.90 a mile, $0.15 a minute to $0.85 a mile, $0.11 a minute.
if we do not accept uber pool trips and the pay cut, uber will flag us and log us out the app for a period of time, known as a "time out".
this force of causing drivers to accept a cut in pay demonstrates another facet of how uber is trying to continue their control of drivers.
the solution to maintaining ic status is for uber to allow the driver to opt out of uber pool if they do not want to accept uber pool trips. or to be able to opt in if they deem that the pay cut is beneficial to them.
uber drivers want true ic status. thank you.

If you are put in a timeout, use your free time to look for another job. I did.

I'm sure Uberpool will be the next legal fight that will be settled in about 5 years.

Kudos to you, Uber Strike, for drawing lawyers attention to the issue by starting this thread! I hope the lawyers and judges have visibility to the board and are familiar with the ongoing and growing issues.

If not, can someone who is already in touch with the legal teams ensure they are aware of not only the car pool issue, but also the timeouts, regardless of the Uber Pool? The practice when Uber drivers are forced to take inconvenient rides must be stopped too.

It was also noticed Uber continues to say in their UberEATS ads that the customer doesn't need to pay a tip for this new service now.

The settlement should be updated to include the following:

1. Stop the practices financially damaging to driver partners
2. Compensate each driver for the lost productivity and financial damages due to the following:
a. Uber Pool
b. Timeouts
c. Tips not included in the app
3. Until these issues are properly addressed, Uber has to stop their false advertising to attract naive drivers as independent contractors

If the lawyers and judges don't take actions on this issues, driver partners will continue to be treated like cattle. If Uber doesn't listen to partners and continue to mislead, manipulate and exploit their work force, the legal system has to come into play and protect drivers, whose personal well-being and financial security determine the safety of ride-sharing and public safety across the US and globally.

Folks who are actively involved in the class action,

Your thoughts and feedback would be much appreciated. Please let us know if you need our help to escalate the issues.

Thanks!

true. uber has set a quota for drivers if they wish to make any type of decent money. regular rates are so low that uber is taking advantage of the desperation of uber drivers by hanging a little extra money over their heads which demands that drivers work on their terms. taking away the flexibility which was uber.
this in effect is causing drivers to have to accept uber pool trips in order to meet the quota of 75 trips that uber has set for you.
we all know that a great majority if drivers do not accept uber pool by choice.

uber is also forcing us to give rides to people that are not account holders. does anyone know if lawyers can use this fact?

drivers are so caught up in driving for the incentives that they could careless about the way uber is misclassifying drivers. i think most drivers don't understand the concept, or what this means. we already know that uber loves to sign up drivers with no education. drivers that cannot calculate expenses.
in the long run these incentives will hurt drivers. i guarantee that these incentives will not continue and we will be back to base fares, with more requests for uber pool than ever. when this takes place drivers will be on here complaining. all they do is complain but not willing to take action.
