Las vegas drivers

I heard drivers for uber are making a killing with tourists in the strip. Ease comment on what you are averaging. Im thinking if moving there.

9 hrs on lyft = 130
9 hrs on uber =150
18 hrs day = 280 in a good day average 220 6days week

Stated earnings of $520/week in fares, driving 40 hours a week, are based on median local earnings of partners from Feb 2 to Feb 23, 2017. All earnings quoted are in fares and based on actual partner earnings data. Actual earnings may vary depending on time of day, location and other factors."

Wow. Thats really not liveable income for 40 hours. I thought it would be way more. Do drivers also make tips out there?

Yes you make tips, but also figure gas, maintenance, insurance, car washes, then taxes at the end of the year ...it is less than livable to say the least, things need to change

Just expect those numbers to go down because every week someone like you posts the same question to this forum talking about how they're going to move to Las Vegas to do ride share. And that's not to mention the people who already live here who continually line up in droves to sign up to drive for Uber/lyft. With such a huge surplus of drivers don't expect Uber to start treating its Las Vegas drivers any better. Some days I go all day getting ride after ride. Other days I do the same thing and I can go over an hour without getting a ping. And everything in between.

He said $220 average, $280 on a good day. That means $160 on a poor day (to hit the average). So $160 to $280 in 18 hours. That's as little as $9/hr. Expenses may be over $5/hr. Driving is a high risk activity. Driving distracted by an app, with strangers in your car, on crowded streets with other distracted drivers, is more dangerous.

Iv been doing a little experiment the past couple weeks, I would put 5$ in my car as soon as the light came on and on average would make 20$ before the light came back on so roughly 25% of what you make goes to gas alone...you start addin up other expenses and you lookin at prolly less then 50% as you take home....so your 500$ 40hr week is actually a 250$ 40hr week...the fact people are ok with this and not willing to do somthing blows my mind...most drivers are workin for less then minimum wage AND beating the hell out of their car, insane

18 hours a day six days a week ? When do you find time to do things like sleep and shower ?

You're right, it's the perfect time to quit and the wrong time to move here.
p.s. here in the States the dollar sign goes before the number not after.

I don't kiss and tell unless you are in my circle of trust. It's really not necessary. If you've done this job on a semi consistent basis, you can get a good idea how much you should expect to make and also determine if this is something you want to do.

Uber operates in 84 countries 724 cities. if they change it for you they'll have to change it for everybody else. It's not going to happen.

That's a horrible attitude...remember when pot was illegal, look how far we've come? when people unite you'd be surprised what can happen!

Iv been a active member in the cannabis movement in this city for over 10 years, 10 years ago when I would say pot will be legal before 2020 people thought I was crazy, well i didn't sit around and accept what was happening I did shit and now you can walk into a shop and buy whatever you want, that didn't just happen we fought for years

Did you miss the 18 hours a day part???? 80-100 a day before gas is more realistic for a new to the area driver.

The last 5 in your tank burns faster then the first 5 in your tank. You know that right? I always fill up at half.

This is a fact? The age old argument will you get better mpg full tank losing less gas to vapors, or only filling half tank and riding with less weight...imo the gas lost to vapor is insignificant ;) especially over a couple hours...

Excuse me, your 30. You weren't even a swimming sperm when we were doing stuff to get pot legalized. It has taken a long long long time. Now I don't even like the stuff but may get something to help me sleep. Dude doesn't have a bad attitude.....he's a realist. Plus he drives a select car....that's an Uber horse of a different color. I dont think I am betraying his trust by telling you that. Some drivers are fine doing what they do and making what they make. There are a few groups forming in Vegas if you want to get involved. One had a meeting today. Keep up with this board and you will get news of the next meeting. The other is nothing but a front for a few drivers to "chase the side" meaning creating a for profit association where they profit from sucker drivers willing to fork out $10 a week.

I don't really know if it holds water scientifically. It sure seems like it does. I just hate running out of gas and always want to be prepared for a run to Los Angeles, San Diego or Parumph when the opportunity arises.

I average $20-30 an hour because I know how to drive better then most of these clowns,work the better hours, get kickbacks etc etc. Sonyes if your a good driver Vegas is great and many drivers are making $1500 a week for 60-70 hours of work, also need to do both Uber and Lyft!
