Wonderful. More pings on Uber leading to a surge. However, Uber seems to have lowered it's threshold for surge so it would mean more quality trips on both platforms

Well Uber already got rid of surge and just charges higher upfront price. It was only a matter of time before the other. Companies follow suit.

Absolutely, and with no drivers being signed up on Lyft, and now this new "personal power zone" you'll be seeing a bunch of ants marching to sit at LES/UES/DUMBO, wherever lyft sends them to sit and wait and leave other areas under served. Funneling a bunch of TLC cars in an area and creating a bunch of traffic is sure to lower UR for us all because you'll have tons of cars just sitting and idling "hoping" for a ping with extra cash attached to it.

We'll see how this works out this time for Lyft.
