Juno's Fair Fare Surge, Talmon, sssteven, and Diverless

3092 Views 15 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  LGC
Just spent 4 hours at juno for their orientation. and now went over juno threads. Few questions

1. What drivers did Talmon, CEO of Juno, consult with about fair surge. Anyone on here? Although they reversed within 48 hours, this is how they conduct business. Feed lines of BS about driver first and then this.

2. sssteven joined 4/15/16, posted 91 times and every single one has been in a juno thread talking them up and putting uber down. anyone else think its someone from inside juno?

3. 2 billion shares is an insane number. so again i ask what is juno's driverless solution. May 5, 2016 WSJ lyft and gm announced first driverless version of service will be around by end of next year in 1 city. Volvo is putting driverless cars in london next year to test on those public roads. So again, how is juno going to exist when these companies have tons of money to subsidizes all rides to put anyone out of business. When they need to raise more capital are they going to issue more shares further diluting?

I am flatter you think that. I would be the first driver that is a employee :) I do have other skills that can help but sad to say i not with any app based company yet. If they want to me a employee i would not say no.
I have certs in IT computer field so who knows right.

I not gonna lie and say i have doubts about juno.
But they have not did anything wrong yet so i want to give them the benefit of the doubt until they show otherwise.

Your right about surge they did kinda wrong without consulting drivers first but they correct there mistake and now will make surge just like uber I emailed them and confirm this and always give my ideas how to improve for driver and pax.

uber/lyft/gett have each done something wrong.
not to me personally as of yet but its a matter of time.
I like to read past history of what a company did to other drivers and help out.
juno has a clean record and they stand out to me because of the shares yea its gonna be lots of drivers but juno did say they will cap drivers each city not sure the threshold.

Juno will have tip
Juno was up front about the %10 percent for 2 years after they are not sure
Juno told us they will pay us surge not charge pax until they figure it out where driver and pax are both happy so far they are on track.

if any other company like gett/uber/lyft was upfront about it and I knew where i stood as a driver i would not complain as much.
To me that is what stands out about juno.
I do not get paid helping juno at the moment
any payment i get is for driver that gives me pax number and refer pax to juno and i split what earn
I hope juno would hire me or any of us as employee.

Tell you what to further prove it my concerns about juno as followed.

Juno will be like uber when big enough.
Go back on promises IE tip option its not in the app yet they have not done it they need to work on it asap.
Not give shares find some way to have drivers not get the shares could be done in lots of ways.

Not selling or going ipo. I would want a backup if the company does not do it so we get stuff that we put in.

Here is a personal issue when i email idea to juno they tell me i will not be paid for my idea I feel its wrong because if the idea makes them rich why can i not see like idk %25 percent cut :) seem reasonable lol

even with all these issues i will support a company that is taking a step in the right path.

Anyways i am rambling on so you get the point.

Something about the way he writes us strange. It seems he goes out of his way to write like a 3 rd grader, but his ideas reflect a higher education.

ouch :) if that is pointed at me .
Guys, we may indeed get f***ed by Juno. Nothing is for certain. Excuse me, some things are fir certain; Uber has been in NYC for 5 years ans blatently screwed drivers for at least 4 of those 5. In my humble opinion to do the same thing and expect a different result is the definition of insanity. Now, Juno has entered the market AND HAS BEEN STRAIGHT UP WITH US! Real NY appreciate being real, My question is this... How can we not support a company that is at least trying, and has not yet F 'd us as of yet? Cmon use your freakin heads and think!

again, how was fair surge decided and implemented? who was consulted? how was any of that "STRAIGHT UP"? they removed it within seconds because they literally had zero justification for it after claiming "for drivers".

they are no different. they want to make money. we are needed now. in a few years, none of these companies will need drivers. rides will dirt cheap and surge wont ever exist for those willing to pay for drivers.

well I hope I cleared the employee thing up for you.
Juno did mess up with the surge but pencils have erasers they should be allowed to use them.
There's a market for everything my friend. Uber, Lyft, Driverless cars, Volvo, Juno. Don't make me list all of the other limousine companies just in NYC :D

Hi HeyNow,

First and foremost, thank you for coming in to our office and joining Juno.

To respond to a couple of points you made:

We have 100's of drivers coming into the Juno office daily. This gives us the unique opportunity to consult drivers one on one about any idea we are thinking of implementing. For Fair Surge specifically, we spoke to many drivers throughout different training sessions before feeling confident that the majority of driver would see this as a positive. Sadly, once implemented it came to our attention that it was not taken well and as a company that listens to drivers we immediately rectified the situation by removing Fair Surge.

We believe driverless cars will become a commodity. A driverless car is a car with self driving technology. We don't need to develop it on our own, we can buy it off the shelf from companies like Mobileye (85-90% of cars using various smart driving features rely on Mobileye).

Yes, we will continue raising capital, which means we will all be diluted. Founders, Drivers and Investors. 1 billion shares were set aside for drivers. Each quarter Juno will release 25mm shares to drivers based on the amount they have driven with us (or more accurately, driver payout). If we all work hard together, the value of these shares will hopefully grow (we cannot predict stock prices). While you may no longer drive in a future with driverless cars, you will still own a piece of Juno.

I am glad you guys are charging sales tax for tolls to the customer and not us.
Mobileye makes driverless cars ??? That's news to me . Since when ?????
Driverless cars would be impossible in NYC. I doubt anyone including passengers and politicians would trust a robot to drive them. I personally wouldn't trust it and personally love to drive. I would never let a robot drive my car. Takes the fun out of everything lol
Mobileye makes driverless cars ??? That's news to me . Since when ?????
Mobileye is the leading supplier of the technology for driverless cars.

He wasn't saying that they'd purchase vehicles from Mobileye.........
He was referring to purchasing the technology from Mobileye vs developing it on their own.
