Ping! 6 minutes away. Outside of my normal acceptable time for a pick up, but it's been slow today. I accept. It instantly changes to 8 minutes. Sigh.

Arrive at the intersection that Uber tells me to be at. No address, just an intersection. Why is it that Lyft can pinpoint the pax, but Uber is still in amateur mode with this?

The area is residential, with one mega apartment complex. I slowly troll through the complex, enjoying each and every speed bump once on the way in and again on the way out. After 3 minutes I am back on the street again, waiting out the timer.

At 4:38 The pax calls. Naturally! "Hello?"

"Hi, I am in (the apartments)."

"Hmmm. I drove through there, and nobody was outside." (Note, it is a beautiful sunny day)

"Ahm.... I am in the back."

6-8 minutes to arrive, plus another 5 minutes looking for her. It really grinds me that people think it is okay to waste other people's time like this!

"In the back? That would have been good to know. I'm sure you will tell your next driver where you are. Thank you." (Click)

The point is that our time is as valuable as an pax's time. They should be toes to the curb, ready to jump in the car, or they should give US a call in advance to let us know where they'll be waiting. We're already doing our part by getting them. They need to do their part in making sure we know where they are. Their responsibility in this deal is FAR lower than ours, and its the least they can do.

After circling the complex you should call or text the pax.
I truly would almost always rather take the ride but the only reasons I would call a passenger is if I knew it was a long ride or because Lyft makes me call before receiving the fee . These people requested the ride . In most cases the driver is there at least 5 minutes after the request and then waits another 5 minutes . These people need to be responsible enough to get to the pin in a timely manner . Why should I have to coax them out for something they requested .

Kudos!

I was worried this would end with you giving this annoying pax a ride - I'm so glad it didn't go that way.

At least she'll be ready and waiting once her next driver arrives.

When will these people LEARN??!! It's really not difficult - order ride, be ready to go WHEN YOU ORDER TRIP. Get in back seat - be courteous, and GTFO. How do so many pax get it wrong along the way? It's baffling.

I don't enter the complex unless they text me beforehand. I wait at the entrance. Not playing games looking for them. If they can't be bothered to give me an idea of where they are they can walk to the front.
As long as I can hit the pin and start the timer, I'll wait at the front (if pax gives no additional details). Just as you said: if they can't be bothered to provide their exact location, they can walk to the main entrance.

WTF is wrong with these folks?

Is it because their parents wiped their asses, spoon-fed them, did their laundry, and gave them awards for simply existing up until they reached 22 years old? How do people get so clueless? Is it a birth defect? A brain defect? A case of millenialitis (which apparently can effect those older and younger than millennials)?
