It is unavoidable, you will have foul smells in your car!

Back when I start doing Uber I faced this problem. Most car fresheners didn’t last more than I few days and seem to be slow removing odors. After testing several products I found Ozium, best odor removal stuff I ever used, except it has harsh chemicals. You need to spray 3-5 seconds and close the car for a few minutes. Then I tested Ona Pro, also great, but it can be sprayed while driving because because it has no harsh chemicals.

I do Uber only Events/Weekend Surge, not that much anymore; but I always have 3 different bottles misters (3oz each from Sally’s Beauty) on my door compartment. Ona Pro and Ozium are essentialy odor and bacteria removers, the third is Chemical Guys New Car Smell.

I bough a gallon of Ona Pro, and a gallon of Chemical Guys. That’s a lot of refills. I gave away to friends, but I still have enough for the following years. Ozium in not sold by gallons. I bought the 8oz and drill a hole to get the liquid out of the metal can. Why? Because after weeks in the interior of the car in Southern California’s heat, the can didn’t spray anymore (or could explode with severe heat). I transfer the liquid to 3 oz spray mister and it works great.

Now I am an odor free freak, by the way I also stop doing laundry that often…:D

I have a 2011, don't use ANY product to remove/refresh and get compliments on "smell of car" all the time. I also have a 3yo and use the car for camping regularly. The only time I had to do anything to remove a smell was after a puker. I used baking powder made to remove pet smells, it had a sent, the next day I was on the road again and was getting compliments on the sent of the car.

Maybe if you have a lingering smell in your car there is a deeper issue.

Most aerosol spray cans have a warning againsts punctures. Sometimes cans spray might stop working because the cap has broken, no more propellant inside the can, or many other reasons. Yes, sometimes it sprays a little bit when punctured, most times it doesn't. Could be paint, insecticide, W40 or carburator cleaner. A 2-3 inch nail a hammer will do the work. I grew up in Mexico, overthere this is a common practice to use the remaining contents from the not-working cans. I have done it so many times since 12-13 years old. Now, I just protect my eyes.

No vomit so far on my car. On the other hand, I have pulled so many times for them to vomit. I have bags, wet wipes. After this I may spray Ona Pro only temporary, because is not hash on us. After the rider's drop, then I would defitively spray Ozium to have odors completely gone.

The friend that invite me into Uber and Lyft driving, liked pukes in his car. Not the puke exactly, but he liked the clean up fees received. Even more when we found out puke smells were gone after clean up and 15 minutes of Ozium treatment. Ona Pro is not as strong enough.

1. Clean vomit meticulously odor removal will not work if vomit remains on surfaces.
2.Roll windows up, for 15 secon spray Ozium into the interior of car. NOT DIRECTLY INTO UPHOLSTERY. Close the doors.
3.Wait 15 minutes, if not all vomit odor is gone, most will be gone.
4.Repeat as necessary.

This might be very true. If the OP's car (or anyone's car) has lingering bad smells it is advisable to replace the cabin filter if the vehicle is equipped with one. These are super easy to replace and an activated carbon one is less then 10 bucks online.

Some car washes sell air conditioning bombs that will cycle through your system and remove odours. I highly recommend this six or something months. Also change your cabin filters. Don't be afraid to air out the car by putting the windows down every once and a while

A taxi I used to drive always stank like dirty socks when I popped the the air con with the foot mode on. I suspect its filters needed to be changed, carpets steamed cleaned and a general air con system disinfection bomb.

But hey it's a taxi and not my car and not my problem at the end of the day

Lots of worthy arguments that puke is A-ok. The truth is, your sense of smell adjusts to your environment. Don't think for a minute that some, but not all strangers, can smell puke in your car. To each their own.
