not talking about chasing surge here. I learned on Night 1 that there is no profit in that.....

I have observed that as I drive toward and through a surge zone (with a rider or getting out of a crappy area after drop), the surge around me disappears directly around me. The orange will literally go away in a circle around me and the circle follows me into the surge zone until it is soon completely extinguished. I have never had a location go into surge while I was in it, including at the airport. I get that about the airport, if there is someone waiting in staging, why surge? I HAVE entered airport staging when it was orange, been pinged immediately, and then gotten no surge by the time I picked them up at the terminal.

Anyhow, I'm sure this has all been talked about before, but I wonder if you and I were 3 blocks apart, would our surge maps look identical? If not, they could be trying to lead us into certain places with a carrot and then withholding the carrot. Has anyone else experienced what I'm describing? I could just be cynical.

Had this exact conversation with my daughter on Sunday. Was at home and on the edge of a surge zone, so went online. Got a ping for 10 minutes north of me, no surge. Ignored it and got a request 15 minutes north of me, no surge. Ignored it and went offline. Said F Uber, didn't really want to drive anyway. Made the comment that I bet other drivers see different surge areas and Uber is playing games.

They do "corral" drivers, that's why when your in the exact center of the surge you will get a request 2 miles away, out of the zone. It's an experiment. We are "lab rats" being used to fine tune the new world orders agenda.
