You asked that question in a yes or no manner, a better way to ask is; Can Plus be profitable? Yes, if you know what you're doing and if you already have a plus car.
But it can also be damn near impossible to get a ride, which means it won't be profitable at all.
I don't drive plus, but I imagine it's a lot like driving Lyft; a bunch of cars for demand that is not always there.

I log on from 5 pm to 11pm on Plus. I consistently get 3 rides in 6 hours. They might be 10$ rides or 30$ rides.

You make money PER RIDE on plus, its just how many rides you get. I end up with 8 bucks an hour.

Too bad too hear. My number one gripe with Uber is they never regulate the amount of drivers so it's consistently saturated. Back in the day when we got three dollars a mile and it was still not somewhat unknown we had surges all the time and making lots of money. As I had seen stated many times on this form the CEO and his cronies are so greedy all they care about is having a pick up on every corner for customers.

Sorry for poor grammar I seem unable to go back and edit my text. But anyway yes if the regulated the amount of drivers lower the commission raise the fares they would keep a lot of us full-time and proud. Their motto isconsistently higher newbies after veterans get sick and quit. Right?

Perfect example of the luck factor while doing Plus. 4 35 am, got a ping by South Coast plaza. Guy with two heavy bags going to John Wayne. $13 fare, no tip, I net 9 bucks. Pull out of John Wayne, another ping same South Coast plaza area, another guy coming out with a roller bag. Destination LAX. $140 fare, I got $103. Didnt mind the lack of tip.

Plus is a lot like playing texas hold'em, you can increase your odds of winning by drivin smart (Optimus Uber) but youll still get 3outed on the river (yellow)

I agree. Plus is a good part time supplement if you:
A live in a rich/ high end commercial neighborhood and
B prefer a high $ per ride over a high $ per hour.

So, ok if you are a student or a home based worker living in rich area. Let pings interrupt your other money making or studying activities. Do your ride and return. You know you are not doing it right, if you are sitting in your car surrounded a dozen other plus cars. Or even worse cruising for pings.

Apparently, you can also make Plus work if you are a bad ass hustler and willing to work anti social hours. But, I can't help with this.

Most I got was 4 Plus pings, between 4pm-10pm in the south bay in one night. Now THAT was a lucky night! Other than that, maybe MAYBE 1 or 2 a WEEK. Rides are short, $15-30 gross. These hipsters want to look nice when they arrive at the valet-only restaurant. And NO tip!
