Might be $10 now.
This is confusing. I received the weekly email newsletter saying that "New rider promotion ends July 31, 2015, so refer now!"

See attached.

It's unprofessional to refer a rider telling them that they will get $20 off their free ride and they later finds out that the promo has already ended. They may think U.S. drivers are trying to con them to use our promo code to sign up.

Can anyone be sure of this?

I think the promo for $20 already ended so riders will get $10 and you will get $5. Sorry my bad.

However if they have keyed in any other promo code prior to their ride it may depend on when they keyed in their promo code it could be $10 or $20. This happens when you tell them to key in your promo code it will say "promo key already applied".

I have never used my DRIVER promo code. I will use my rider promo code as I do take UBER rides when I send my car for servicing or to the airport and I get a $10 or $20 credit when I recommend to my pax.

Anyway I just tell them to key in a promo code and they will get SOME credits. Usually they will tell me how much they get :D

I have trouble keeping up with the promos too.

Did you read their latest newsletter on the guaranteed rates. There are some changes to how the calculate the acceptance rates.

I've written to Uber support for clarification a few days ago and got a reply affirming the referral promo ($20 subsidized for 1st ride) is still on going. They sent me a link : http://www.driveuber.sg/referrals/ rider referral

When I wrote back to challenge them on the email newsletter that I received saying referral promo ended on 31 July, I didn't hear from them anymore.

Time and again, it appear to me that this is an internal communication breakdown problem between Uber Support and Sin Ming office.
Uber Support could be a thousand miles away dishing out text book replies to their biz partners (aka, Us) , and things only get resolved when we visit Sin Ming office in person. Uber support is not equipped and empowered to solve our problems and need to refer to the Singapore office for instructions. This is highly ineffective, time consuming and inefficient. Us, their biz partners, could spend more time on the road rather than turning up at Sin Ming waiting in line for hours at time just to resolve trivial matters.
