!00% agree on this one. There could be zero cars in the lot yet planes landing non-stop with no surge! This started 2 weeks ago. On X we used to get the fair rate we deserved when it was a 2x surge to the strip and we made $20 to the strip before a tip... then when it changed to sticky surge say $4 we got $8-$10 plus the $4 ... so down from $20 to about $12 before a tip... could make $18 IF we got a $5 tip.... now they totally give us SH*T and we get $7 anything south of Flamingo and lucky if we get $9 anything South of Sahara and this is taking the tunnel... I NEVER take the back way unless they want to stop at the Grove so I get my $15 kickback and wait for the rider so I get the trip to the final destination. The economy is rocking now and it's hard for employers to fill positions... an organized strike with signs and us all lined up around the airport lot hoping all drivers would stand up together and hopefully drivers would respect and not cross the line... this would seriously get press, LIVE TV news... I had a Venture Capitalist investing in the Lyft IPO last week as a rider and we talked all about this stuff and he agreed that now would be the perfect time to do such a thing. I stopped working the lot a few days ago... why sit there for a $7 ride ? these companies are becoming more scumbags by the minute!
Yup... When I started in June 2017, with both Lyft AND Uber, I could make my nut of $100/week net for my "play_money"
in less than one day of being online for perhaps 4-5 hours... Now it often takes 2-3 days of that same 4-5 hours/day to
get the same net pay. I gave up Lyft for a litany of reasons, the major one being their $2,500 deductable. Not to mention the annoyance factor, in that I haven't driven for them in over a year, and I STILL get those passive-aggressive text messages saying "We noticed you haven't driven for us in quite some time, please login and tell us why"... They come from various phone numbers, so blocking them isn't doable..
As for Uber, being retired, and partially crippled, I drive to get out of the house a bit, and make some "play_money" to
allow me some luxuries that social security and a small pension won't support. IF I didn't have messed up knees and could do some kind of part-time job, to probably make MORE than I do with Uber every month, I'd kick Uber to the curb without thinking about it....
