Thoughts on boycotting the lot and letting passengers clog up the airport? Its seems the sticky surge has all but disappeared from the app now even on weekends. It's the principle....Not whether or not you use the lot to get rides.
I already boycott, but still get ride from airport, not sure why but when I'm near and there's a surge I take em, never have I ever even driven in that lit

I’ve been boycotting the AP lot for well over two years.

It was sorta okay back when it was located at T3.

Then when it got moved over to Pardise it became a zoo.

Now in its current location across Tropicana it’s a nightmare.

Screw the AP lot!!!

I haven't been to the holding lot for well over a year. Last couple of weeks I have gotten request for rides to pick up at the airport after dropping off there. Always $3+ surge on the 4 or 5 pickups I have done. Maybe lucky with the timing. Don't boycott. Let people sit there waiting for rides.

I've never picked up at the airport.
I wish Uber algorithm would get the hint and stop sending me airport pings, wasting both riders and my time.
Got a message from Uber awhile back saying,
"We noticed you don't pickup at the airport. Please take to time to respond as to why"
I gave my reasons and said I never will pickup there.
Uber "punished" me with 7 consecutive rides to the airport. LOL Coincidence?
But after, the airport pings dramatically declined.
Lately though (since new surge?) I'm getting bombarded with airport pings again, as far away as Flamingo/Ft Apache.
Hopefully Uber algorithm relearns my position on airport pickups.

It’s because the airport hasn’t surged the past 4 days and no one is picking up from there. I was near mgm parking garage when I got a ping and also on sunset near town square too. If they aren’t going to surge I’m not gonna pick up from there. Has to be at least a $3 surge since that can get adjusted up if I get a trip to red rock or far north.

I did a dropoff at the airport this morning and since I needed to make a #1 I figured I'd hit the portapotties at the lot, and then split. As I drove in, I got the "drive to terminal" message, and by the time I drove up near the western group of "comfort stations", I'd already gotten a ping for terminal 1. I left the car running and made my #1 and headed to what turned out to be a nice profitable ride out to Henderson. Seems the Airport lot is sparsely attended early in the am (8am-ish), so I think I may start checking it out when I leave the house on a "driving day"...

That same ride 3 weeks ago would have been 2.50-5.00 more depending on the sticky surge or drive off the lot and kept the sticky. Glad it was a longer ride for you though. With the sticky surge the game was to do short runs after the airport pick up turn around go right back to the airport lot get another sticky and head for MGM or Hard Rock unless you got pinged to the terminal and make more profit with less gas and time used. Ive never waited on the lot for a ping. Drive through sticky. For me....No sticky....NO PICKY!

while we all know a formal organized boycott of anything uber is never going to happen, i do feel like these consistent cutbacks in pay, the near total elimination of surge and uber literally using every other aspect of the app possible to reduce driver pay and increase profits will result in a growing majority of drivers just saying no to most of the BS and declining more and more pings (even the ants). which given enough time will dramatically increase rider complaints, and as we also know PAX complaints are the only ones they actually listen to, could possibly cause them to walkback some of this stuff. so i say go on uber, crap on us all you like, let's see where the line really is.

TL DR the only chance we got is customers receiving such poor service they start complaining en mass.

!00% agree on this one. There could be zero cars in the lot yet planes landing non-stop with no surge! This started 2 weeks ago. On X we used to get the fair rate we deserved when it was a 2x surge to the strip and we made $20 to the strip before a tip... then when it changed to sticky surge say $4 we got $8-$10 plus the $4 ... so down from $20 to about $12 before a tip... could make $18 IF we got a $5 tip.... now they totally give us SH*T and we get $7 anything south of Flamingo and lucky if we get $9 anything South of Sahara and this is taking the tunnel... I NEVER take the back way unless they want to stop at the Grove so I get my $15 kickback and wait for the rider so I get the trip to the final destination. The economy is rocking now and it's hard for employers to fill positions... an organized strike with signs and us all lined up around the airport lot hoping all drivers would stand up together and hopefully drivers would respect and not cross the line... this would seriously get press, LIVE TV news... I had a Venture Capitalist investing in the Lyft IPO last week as a rider and we talked all about this stuff and he agreed that now would be the perfect time to do such a thing. I stopped working the lot a few days ago... why sit there for a $7 ride ? these companies are becoming more scumbags by the minute!

Last night I was heading north on Sewnson, just as I drive past the lot, which was packed full, I get a Uber ping to T1.

At the time this happened Lyft app indicated about 60 cars in the lot and Uber app showed lot full.

Dunno how I managed to bypass over 100 cars in the lot for a ping when I never pulled into the lot.

So I take it anyway, turned out to be okay. T1 to Stratosphere via the tunnel with a tip.

Yup... When I started in June 2017, with both Lyft AND Uber, I could make my nut of $100/week net for my "play_money"
in less than one day of being online for perhaps 4-5 hours... Now it often takes 2-3 days of that same 4-5 hours/day to
get the same net pay. I gave up Lyft for a litany of reasons, the major one being their $2,500 deductable. Not to mention the annoyance factor, in that I haven't driven for them in over a year, and I STILL get those passive-aggressive text messages saying "We noticed you haven't driven for us in quite some time, please login and tell us why"... They come from various phone numbers, so blocking them isn't doable..

As for Uber, being retired, and partially crippled, I drive to get out of the house a bit, and make some "play_money" to
allow me some luxuries that social security and a small pension won't support. IF I didn't have messed up knees and could do some kind of part-time job, to probably make MORE than I do with Uber every month, I'd kick Uber to the curb without thinking about it....

I was going to say something similar. I've driven past the airport numerous times and received ride requests at the airport. I've never been in the TNC lot and never will. Using the bypass seems to send me requests the most, but dropping at certain places seems to do it as well. And when they started the sticky surge, dropping at T3 would often add the surge to my next ride.
