Bro I swear to got you hit it right on the head. All day today I was asking myself what's going on?? Should I go back to yellow? Everyone had their hands up. Reminds me the good ol days
Wait, you mean you didn't get calls during rush hours? I didn't get my first peak time ping until like 5:30 PM. I had figured that it was because I refused my first peak ping...it didn't say POOL. I wanted POOL.
I got in 11 peak time trips today (counting morning and evening peak periods).
My total today was 18 rides....but I'm a newbie and you guys said that we always get good rides. I AM SO THANKFUL THAT I HAD NO NEW JERSEY OR AIRPORT RUNS TODAY. EVERYTHING IN MANHATTAN. THANK GOD (2 POOLS).
Make sure that your acceptance rate is high enough for the guarantee. You don't want uber to say that we are not paying your guarantee because of that. Read the promotion and all the details carefully.
Wow! This is a big deal. A lot of money. Even though I got 18 rides, I only earned just over $100! (Fine w/ me since I'm covered by the Uber guarantee).
I'm sitting here thinking. I couldn't make any money in yellow anymore because of uber. So I got financed a car and jumped in the uber ship paying all these insurances and all the responsibilities for the car to only find that I'm not even making money here too. The problem is that too many people are jumping to this business. It's like everybody wants to be a dishwasher! I have experience working NYC and know how to work. This uber lyft gig I'm not even topping 200 dollars in 8 hours. This is very bad and such a low standard. Especially that it's your car! Your insurance your everything. I didn't buy my own car to work 12 hours I've done this job for top long for me to do over 10 hours to make a living. This is totally wrong.
One uber passenger asked me how was the switch from yellow to uber. Do I feel like I'm my own boss now? I'm like no! I honestly felt more like my own boss in taxi without even owning a single responsibility such as car or anything. Now I feel like I'm an employee who owns all the responsibilities and none of the perks! After 20 years all I see is in out of New York. It'd gone. So many people here and immigrants go from their country straight to the TLC!
