Yes, don't come lol! Anyone have fewer trips to DFW so far this week? Just curious to see how this is progressing. Maybe airline share prices have already priced in the worst and we're already on the upswing. With 24/7/365 media we are all going to be screwed if something legit hits. Mass hysteria and full-blown panic await

American Airlines is slashing international and domestic flights as demand falls amid the coronavirus epidemic, the carrier said Tuesday. The Fort Worth-based airline is also suspending its full-year and quarterly financial forecasts.

The move follows similar measures announced last week by JetBlue and United. U.S. carriers had previously reduced flying to China, where the virus was first detected, and elsewhere in Asia, but its rapid spread has hurt demand for flying more broadly, prompting deeper and more generalized cuts.

American said it will shave 10% off its peak summer international flying, one of the clearest signs yet that airline executives expect the coronavirus' impact on the business to last longer than expected. That includes a 55% cut to its trans-Pacific flying capacity as travel demand throughout Asia plummets. The virus originated in Wuhan, China in December and quickly spread throughout that country and to nearby South Korea, Singapore and Japan.

It will also cut April domestic capacity by 7.5%.

American, which had already suspended service to mainland China for several weeks, extended that to October.

As part of its international cuts, American is temporarily suspending service to several European cities, including Rome, Milan, Barcelona, Venice, Paris and Madrid from various U.S. airports. It's also cutting back on some of its South American service.

Other than the typical bovine scat that I have to deal with when I have to drop off pax south of I-30, last week and this week have been better than average for Lyft. Uber? Pfft. Dead. Last week was the worst week I've had with Uber ever. I'm talking "less than a tank of gas" type revenue. I'm so glad I have multiple sources of revenue. This week, Uber is a fat zero. I forgot I had it on tonight. Just over 4 hours, zero requests, but I was hardly ever empty with the Gryfters.

I think Uber is throttling me. For giggles and grins, I've started submitting help requests. I want to see how many different versions of the copy and paste email excuses I can get them to generate.

I'm curious to know how the week has been. I haven't driven since last Friday. I usually expect Spring Break weeks to be slow without a virus scare. I haven't seen any surge on the app at the usual times I expect it, however I haven't gone online either.

What I'll never understand is the tin hat folks who think Uber throttles drivers.

Why the heck would they want to internally increase pax waiting time?!?!

Sort of makes you realize the geniuses who drive for this company...

Except they definitely do. Ever since pax have to enter destinations.

The most obvious clue of this is during those $10 consecutive trip things in uptown, deep ellum, downtown.

No guarantee = 5 min fares an hour, uber will beat the brakes and transmission off your car.
GUARANTEE = 1 hour between trips.

Dude, waiting in lot A is killing your freaking brain...

Again... Why would a company want longer pax waiting times when there is an alternative service competing for the same customer base and offers the same price?!?!
