Because Uber and Lyft are only the 2 main rideshare companies and they dont have a major other competitors, they basically screw their drivers as much as they can cause they like to treat us as if we are their slaves. Nobody including the government really cares how the independent contractors are being treated. They dont care if we get the below minimum wage or have unfair conditions. For example I dont really understand how a rider can just change the destination or add stop in the middle of the ride without the approval from the driver. Anyway, does anyone know if big competitors such as Grab is going to come in to our market? I googled but dont see much hopes. Unless there are more competition, both Uber and Lyft wont give s**t about us and continue to treat us as if we are their slaves. I started to search for other jobs but the thing is I have limited options as I have to schedule myself around my son’s schedule.

Lyft is trying to be a competitor to Uber but they are not doing too well, running out of operating capital. So I don't see any room for a third wheel here.

Actually Uber treats drivers better than Lyft.

Something else will have to come along to drastically change the game to get riders to switch to the new service and if Uber fails to adapt quickly, then it will perish.

Not news by the way.

I agree. Much needed healthy competition asap. I have a feeling uber and lyft filled the corrupt politicians pockets so much though that no one else is allowed in unless they pay handsomely at that

They have scared away the competition by charging below cost fares for so long.
