I spoke with my insurance agent today about insurance coverage in Iowa. American National Property & Casualty says they won't drop for Ubering, but they also won't cover any claims where a passenger is in the car. Based on the infamous Phase 1, 2, & 3 - that is only Phase 3 and Uber is primary insurer for that. He asked specific questions on all 3 phases if Uber's insurance is the primary or secondary and also if their coverage was liability or included any comp/collision (aka full coverage)

They don't have any type of Rideshare rider for covering any gaps in Phase 1 & 2, but we did add a "Business Use" rider to mine that is designed to cover business use of a personal vehicle when reimbursed by an employer - such as a sales person or consultant. That may or may not help in the Uber specific instance since they're not an employer, per se, but about the best I could do to cover myself until better coverage options are available.
