I got a lovely message from Uber just now with the above subject line.
The email had a photo of someone shifting gears in a car,
with the caption "Arriving Now".

That was the entire email.
No text, no links, no nuthin.

Anybody have any idea what this is?

Whatever it is, it doesn't sound good.

I’m as jaded as most (see my thread last night lol) but maybe this can be mostly good

Pax asks for something special and says “I’ll tipyou i promise” ok. Do it right now.

Now we can actually potentially know for sure about promises to tip — “actually, you can do it right now in the app!”

If they don’t, they get what their true actions are.

Personally, I’ll maybe be honest with some riders now.

When they say soooo sorry about the express pool extra minute wait or the uberx 4 min wait or anything, I’ll say “it’s ok. But just FYI for the wait time right now I’m going to have to rate you one star. I get paid nothing for waiting for you. If you would consider tipping even a dollar in app now for the wait, I’ll give you 5 stars”

How do you know they tipped you? Correct me if I am wrong, but most of all the app features are disabled at the start of the trip.

Ordinarily, they probably don't have time or they forget to comment at the end of the ride. If anything, it makes it easier for them to make negative comments and thus we getting penalized for them. The culling of the Uber herd is in full effect.

Ya I mean moreso if they say they'll tip, you ask them to do it right now. You can either make them show you on the app or hopefully Uber will be smart enough to realize we would love a notification when they tip during a trip

You probably won't see it until the end of the trip, unless you see them do it.

Uber NEVER does anything solely for driver benefits. This is to make it easier for the snowflakes to complain and get free rides.
