I really don’t get the pronouns thing though. I will address them as “you”. They won’t hear me when I speak of them to my friends behind their back and call them “it”. 😂

No. It says that these potential riders want to control how people speak of them in the third person. Which is insane. It’s one thing when people ask you to address them in a certain way - which, as I said, will still be “you” in both singular and plural, in case they think there’s more of them than the one.It seems that they say more about you than about the potential riders.
