I see lots of comments regarding insurance.
As per my understanding if I have both collision and comprehensive coverage on my car- uber will cover in case of accident while I am going to pick pax or I have pax in my car -1000 dollars deductible .
In the case of some one else fault - there auto policy should cover 100%.
Let me know if I am missing something.

What's missing is that if you have the app on, but no passenger & no call you are going to, they only cover liability. Farmer's and USAA offer Gap insuramce that covers collision and comprehensive coverage during that period.

Saw in another thread that the poster called his insurance company and just mentioned the possibility of driving Rideshare. Well they now have a notice on his policy and he received a letter a few days later that if they find out he drives Rideshare they will terminate his policy and not cover any damages. NJ insurance companies are on the lookout and you will most likely not fool them any longer.

Uber's coverage will match your policy's coverage, which, since you're driving "for hire" is at best liability only unless you explicitly pay for commercial insurance, or coverage for TNC (Transportation Network Company), or rideshare coverage.

Today I began paying State Farm Insurance an extra $16 per month for TNC coverage which extends my personal coverage through any situation with Uber/Lyft.

My agent said I was the first in a town of 100,000+ to pay for this coverage.

Funny today I opened my insurance app (which I never do hehe) since I needed the policy number to renew my registration and they put and add there offering Lyft ride if I ever need in an emergency! LOL!.. they don't offer the coverage but have no problem integrating to Lyft for the service!

Did you do that in NJ?
