I know I’m not the only one here worrying about this. What’s going to happen if lockdown continues cause I know for damn sure I’m not risking it and picking up sick people. How they going to keep charging us $400-$500 insurance when nobody is driving?

I know they have that storage option but who the hell wants to go through all that hassle and stand in line at the DMV exposing us to other people there.

Anyone have any updates on the insurance relief part?

I called Toyota and discussed about the current situation, they agreed to skip two payments so far. Didn't talk to my insurance people yet. So there is a relief on skipping mortgage and car payments ,Credit cards , Personal loans.

There are not insurance relief or taking about to use our deposit now instead at end of the year

A company like American Transit is ready to charge us 50 dollars late fee, I doubt there is any relief from our insurance.
Insure the same ready to charge 50$for one day late fee and I wander why they allow to charge so much fee .. even the creditors in NYS can not charge more then 19% interest ...any attorney know the rules how much corporation are allowed to charge late fee ...

I did see something about the IDG saying it was speaking to American Transit and Hereford about allowing drivers to hold off on payments. It was in an email a day or two ago. But talk is cheap 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

The solution is simple no one pays. I know I'm not paying i have no money for that. Plus they have 3 months deposit they can use it.
I am with you, I haven't driven since March 3rd, I have to balance all the payments and insurnace payment is not on top of my mind when I am not driving.
Btw I had a situation before where I didn't pay it for almost a month, but took care of it before the next due date. I think I will do the same this time when I receive the letter from DMV/TLC warning me about the insurnace lapse if payment not received then I will take care of it usually a day or two earlier than next due date.

Are you talking about your own car or rental? If it's a rental car then just return it. If it's your own car then you're in the same boat as all other car owners in the country. For example I paid my insurance for full year already. Doesn't matter if you drive or not, you pay premium. The only aid that I know we might get is that $1000 check Trump promised so far.

I called up Honda and they deferred my payments for 2 months but now I'm worried about the insurance I get from inshur.

I talked an insurance company into letting me off payments (a long time ago) through the slow season. However they just adjusted it so my september payment was lower and every other month was higher. :cautious:

Good luck getting them do to do anything.

Car loan and insurance are different things. Car loan is like a credit card debt, they give you credit and you pay them back with interest while in insurance case you pay upfront and buy your insurance. It's not a credit. It's like when you go to the store and buy something. You can buy it with cash or whit your card (debit or credit). If you don't pay you aren't getting insurance. If you don't have an insurance you can't drive and your registration will get revoked and you'll lose your plates. Insurance companies can't defer your payments because they aren't credit card companies. If you don't have money right now you can pay it with credit card or apply for a new one or for a personal loan and pay with it.

I just called my broker and told her if there’s anything they can do because I can’t pay my insurance. She said that the insurance company hasn’t given any update and if I don’t pay my insurance it’s going to go into cancellation. She then told me to do Uber eats or Postmates. I felt like I was in the bottom of the food chain

We all need help on the insurnace front, doesn't matter if we drive or not we still have to pay it. The least they could do is defer the payment till the situation gets resolved without lapsing the insurance. Some of our drivers will still be working and helping the people out in the streets.

I'm so glad to have paid it in full. I just saved the money I spent for the full year payment and I got a really bad news from my tax return, and probably I'm going to pay it on July and probably I'll skip my first quarterly

WTF I have to renew my registration next month !
