Aren't we all sole traders and our 'business earnings', just another 'income' for us?
Nope, not at all.....I'd imagine there are vehicle owners who run cars on fleet Uber App that may have multiple drivers per vehicle.....so my interest is insurance coverage for the vehicle not an individual....if that makes sense

That would be Business Interruption Insurance.
Rather specialised in scope, but it is available.

On a side note, I get a two week hire car with my policy in the event my vehicle is out of action.

But that's relating to an accident, don't think it covers all reasons why a vehicle could not be used.

And in that two week's the decision to get a replacement vehicle for the longer term needs to be met.

That's the sort of back up process I have in place. Ultimately, we have to always keep on driving somehow.

It's not an easy thing, so this is a good topic to discuss.
So can the replacement vehicle, which I suspect would be a rental, e.g. Avis or similar be used for Uber?
I'd be punting to the negative on that...

I seem to recall from the insurer's side (i.e. the ultimate provider of the rental car) there is not a problem, however on Über's side of the equation ~ well I don't think smooth sailing could be expected
I have a similar option on my MV Insurance and this reminds me to follow it up.
It would be good if we were dealing with a transparency company instead of a technology company :)

John Galt yep, that's the correct term
A good broker or insurance adviser would be able to help with that.
It is a very specialised product though. It would pay to familiarise yourself with the terminology before going forward.

It is on on the 'life' side of insurance as opposed to the 'property' side. Perhaps, google around and see if you can download some pdfs of PDS's before 'reaching out'.

Most of the larger (life) insurers offer this cover.
I would stress the need of a good adviser.

BTW, my handle is prefaced with Who is. Hence the incorrect member's name coming up.
