Lol, is it really so bad?
Lyft and Uber are similar.

However, Lyft is a little more annoying:

- You get messages letting you know how you are disappointing the community constantly when you decline or cancel rides! LOL
- In my market in the worse parts of town amongst the criminal element Lyft is the ride of choice.
- 2500 deductible for insurance claim.
- They auto load rides you never accepted while on a ride.
- They switch your ride while on your way to a pickup occasionally.
- Less tips.
- They do a better job at hiding the pick up location while being pinged.
- When starting a ride they don't give you the full address. They leave out the town/city and only give you the street address.

Again, they are both just as bad. I just find Lyft more annoying.

- Agreed
- Agreed in some places, but I think it's location specific
- Agreed
- Agreed, but I think it's a matter of personal preference as to which is better.
- Agreed with a capital A
- Definitely location specific
- Not sure
- Agreed, this gets on my nerves too, address just says 231 Main St, and I'm like 231 Main St where? NYC, Boston, LA, Germany, The Moon?
I think I might have seen recently they are gonna change this though.

Always interesting hearing about different markets and peoples experiences.

There are subtle differences. Here though the min. fare on Lyft is $4.12 and Uber $3.00. I'll work Lyft when in the downtown core and they are mostly short rides.

Tips I find better on Lyft (shrug).

West Coast visitors/tourists/business folk here tend to use Lyft. East Coasters Uber.

Anytime I (or my wife) have had an issue with Lyft, they have it fixed within 1-3 hours. Uber, they might respond to you within 24 hrs and it's a crap shoot if they fix it.

Lyft surges are a lot more rare than Uber. But I'll take a guaranteed Lyft multiplier surge over what guess work surge Uber pops up with.

Uber was tossing a ton of "Quests" here starting in December. So I was raking it with Uber the last 4-5 months. But those seem to be dying down and back to more of a balance between Lyft/Uber every week.

I love the Lyft AMP for event and nighttime driving.

My goal when driving is butts in seat and the meter running! Whatever I can do to accomplish that is what I work towards. Get a Lyft ping and take it but it's a bit of a drive, I leave Uber on. That Uber ping comes across and is considerably closer, shuffle the one and get the closer. Butts in the seat as much as possible with the meter running!

*Disclaimer --- I'm not advocating Lyft. I'm advocating doing what works for you to maximize your $$$$.

When you cancel with Lyft, you get the whole $5.
This is the sole thing Lyft has over Uber now.

@Coachman honestly I wouldn't. Lyft's version of Charlotte Surge AKA Personal Power Zones are worse than Uber:

*Bonuses don't extend no matter how long the trip

*No Bonus for any additional riders

*No DF for Bonus trips

Lyft sucks bigtime. Haven't done any Lyft in a month.

That would be a dealbreaker for me. Its way to stressful using nav 100% of the time only to realize its a hotel or airport or another town. That sucks. I had that with uber navigation. I switched to GM and now i see the entire trip including address or name of destination. Once i know where im going i dont need google maps except maybe the last few minutes

Small market here. Lyft charges less and riders caught on. This week I have more than ten times more revenue from Lyft than Uber. Yeah, I get paid less for the same ride, but I get SO many more rides from Lyft lately.

I hate the short rides. Yesterday I had back-to-back long rides, a 40 mile and a 50 mile. That's the way it should be!

At the end of the week, most of my rides go to Uber. It can’t hurt to have Lyft, it helps when things are slow. It’s a shame the way they just shoot themselves in the foot. If they would get it together, they could have a bigger share of the market.

The days are weird. I'll start out with 4 or 5 rides from one of the two, then the rest of the day will be the other.

In the end it's typically 65/35 Uber though.

And you have to call / text to get cancellation fee.

I wonder why people complain about not seeing the full address when they start the ride. At least I see it.

When I don't see the full destnation address is when I hit arrive. However, once you do that, you can see the route in the map before you start the trip.
