I'm an experienced Seattle driver but havent done rideshare in almost a year. I'll be returning to the scene in a couple of weeks and I have a couple of questions:

- I understand lyfts power drive bonus (pdb) has been replaced. What the new incentives look like?

- Does prime time/ surge still exists as it was (percentage/ lyft and multiplier/uber), or is it some kind of flat bonus now?

- Does the "estimated ride length" on the request screen still exist for PLATINUM lyft drives?

- Any other major changes I should know?

Incentives they say....

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

No more pdb. No more prime time. Personal power zones that rarely are ever offered. Uber has flat surge for drivers, while charging 2x and pocketing the difference and offers $20 bonus for 40 rides.

It is everywhere, brother!!! Just a few more weeks, and they will get rid of incentives entirely. Their data analysis has suggested to them that drivers will keep driving for them regardless of incentives, so why bother wasting. money.

but isn't there something similar to uber quest?? I was with a friend at the lyft/hertz express rental, and they offer a quest like incentive ($60 for 80 rides, $100 for 100 rides, or $190 for 120 rides) to offset the cost of the rental.

If there are no incentives at all for non-rental drivers, it looks like the express rental deal is not so terrible then

Rentals cost you $960 per month, for that money you can get your own freaking Lexus. And remember, you cannot write off those rental miles, they will write them off. You will write off the rental amount only. I wrote off almost $35k on sheer mileage only, last year. That you cant do with rentals.
Instead of renting crap from Hertz, go and buy a beat up corolla or civic for $7000.

The only thing you can count on is base rate driving. Any quest or challenge is so low as to be an insult. Often they are set so that you can't make them. If you make them easily, they will be reset so they are more difficult if not impossible. Flat rate surge is so close to wage theft I don't understand why state AGs don't investigate. The humanoids at U/L who come up with these schemes lack any form of conscience. It will not get better. That's the way it is.

Why should you be able to write-off the number of miles on somebody else's car? You can only write-off the rental money that you paid, it is like the lease of a taxi. The rental car company is interested in writting off those miles. But Hey, if you wanna take a chance, go for it, write-off those miles, lets see if the IRS could catch you or not . It is worth a try, it will be $3000 write off a month compared to $960 rental only. Give it a shot

That's like $34.84210526315789 an hour, calculator says.
But he must be anting to the extreme: The 156 trips equal like $12.73 per trip.
And these numbers INCLUDE prime time, tips, toll reimbursements, etc.[/QUOTE]
