Try this reply the next time someone says I'll tip you in the app. THERE YA GO YOU JINXED ME, I"LL NEVER SEE THE TIP. EVERY TIME SOME ONE SAYS THAT THEY GET BUSY AND FORGET TO DO IT. I UNDERSTAND THEY HAVE A LOT GOING ON. BUT THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE YOU A RIDE, I APPRECIATE IT. HAVE A GREAT DAY. Most of the time it works and the tip shows up. It seems that every time someone says they will tip in the app, there is no tip.
I have to wonder if the customer is just being an asshole and trying to get 5 stars, or if Uber is taking the tip from us.
For the last customer that did this, the next day I put in a complaint through the app and asked Uber to switch the rating to one star and explained the reason.
Not that I'm entitled to a tip, but come on, don't lie to drivers.
I'm in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Are other drivers seeing this as a norm too?

Interesting , never heard that before , maybe it’s just a Canadian thing ? Nice people , but in my dealings with them in the states , they tend not to tip 🤷♂️Is it just me?
