It is because there are so many drivers out there Uber/Lyft does not care about us. There are many drivers who drives because they dont have much choice. They donit out of necessity. However there are many who drives just to make extra money even though has enough money or just for hobby or just to spend some time ….etc. For those who are driving not out of necessity, please consider other things as you are causing many drivers who rely on this rideshare companies to bring less needy income to their family. In this case I am sure that both Uber/Lyft will have no choice but treat their drivers fairly out of necessity.

Not "woke" enough to call you out for "gatekeeping" ride-sharing but bro, you're gatekeeping hard af right now lol.

That's like saying, "if your household could do with only one income, one of you needs to quit their job because the unemployment rate is too high."

No, anyone can drive for Luber or Shyft if they want - it's Luber and Shyft that need to pay up.

What I am trying to say here that if you have a job already that pays you lets say 100K, why working for a little extra while there are others in need for that extra. A household is a different story because everybody needs to make their own money - specially in today’s word where divorce’s are common and you wont get a job easily if you are unemployed for long time. But I see your point here

Dont blame the ants, blame the companies. Can't blame other drivers, they have no control over your income, and they're not taking the vast majority of your fare. Surge or no surge.

Here's an idea -- instead of asking other drivers to quit so YOU can get more rides and/or higher fares, you can control your own destiny by going to work at McDonald's ---- you'll earn a lot more than what you're getting from Uber right now.

It's ridesharing, it's designed to leverage the general public into providing transportation along a route they are already traveling.

Sure in some areas there isn't enough drivers and some can make a living even, but it's not the case everywhere.

Uber says 94% if it's drivers are ridesharing part time, less than 40 hours a week. Which means only 6% are doing ridesharing for a living.

The pay is so terrible, the risks are too high, not worth it, especially with no career path. It's a gig job, do not depend upon it as Uber will change the game and you'll lose.

If you like giving rides so much, or are disabled or something, start your own taxi business. But customers have to really like you to call you.

I would but I need to have flexibility in order to have my schedule around my son’s schedule. Dont worry I am already looking for other jobs too that would be willing to hire me based on my own schedule. Once find it, I will quit driving for Uber. Also, I am asking for the drivers who are just doing Uber for fun or has already made enough money from his/her other jobs. Why would I ask this for any driver who are indeed in need for extra money. As you probably know there are drivers out there doing this for hobby and some even just to get a chance to meet and date girls. Although it is not in big percentage I believe. Only had a few chats with some drivers

Mine is more out of necessity and not that I would love giving rides. But regarding 94% driving less than 40 hours in Uber, so is mine. But when you combine Lyft with Uber, that makes it more or around 40 hours. I think there is way more than just 6% percent who drives more than 40 hours. It is just that they are not only driving for Uber. So I believe there are many drivers out there doing rideshare as their main source of income - way more than 6 percent. So although what Uber says true, it is not the full picture

PLEASE ****ING STOP WITH THIS BULLSHIT!!!!

Uber/Lyft are legalized bandit gypsy cabs.

No one signed up for Uber/Lyft saying "I hope I can find someone going to the mall" they signed up saying "I've got some time, let's see how much money I can make" and wind up going wherever the riders take them.

DF was sometimes used for what you're describing but DF became so unreliable it was rendered useless.

Oh sorry Mr Entitled One, is there any thing else you feel more entitled to than the rest of us? Please remember there are also W-2 jobs that people like you should think about if you have the disipline to follow orders. You haven't been in it long enough or you wouldn't still believe that you can force these companies to treat you like the royalty you seem to think you are.

just for hobby or just to spend some time
Some markets (ie, Tucson) are awash with hobby drivers...you will recognize them; snowbirds/retirees who tootle around in their Ford Explorers, Yukons, Suburbans, and the like...get out of the house, away from the Mrs., score a decaf and donut and stop along the way to take just about any ride (as long as its not in low end real estate) "for fun", until of course they happen upon a pax is NOT fun, and that ends the day....time to head back home.
