Hello folks, Newbie here to take away everyone's money!o_O I was driving on 45 near airtex and I received 2 airport pings back to back. I had to go offline. This ever happen to anyone? Right after going offline I saw there was a surge at the airport.

OK thanks. Seems odd though because if I don't go offline then I will go in timeout. I don't have an airport permit. Instead, Uber should've sent a text like I have received before.

No, this was last night around 9.
45 and airtex just got saturated with drivers trying to skip the queue.

Thursdays are a pretty busy day for traveling, I did not work last night, so I don't know if there were drivers there and you simply skipped the queue somehow, but its a possible explanation.

Uber doesn't know who has a airport permit. If you have a city permit getting the airport permit is free. ($3 parking).

OK thanks. I think I'll look into it but don't have time to go during day due to my job. How long is the process, and can I just be dropped off or do they need to put sticker on their selves?
After you do the paperwork, they hand you sticker to self-apply. Process length depends on how many drivers are trying to get the tag. Took me about 20 minutes overall once I located the office.

I just renewed mine airport sticker. It was about 8:30 am and I was the first one there (opens at 8:00). I was in and out in 5 minutes. You need your permanent TNC license, drivers license, car registration and proof of insurance.
The permitting office is at the West end of Terminal A outside around the corner from the TNC/Taxi area. You can be dropped off and picked up when you are done or you can park in the terminal garage for $3. If you do it one day while you are driving you can simply drop off your rider and you will be in the airport queue during the process. When you are done you can go to the TNC lot and the timer will show where you stand but it will be lower than it was when you first got there since once you are in the queue you do not lose your place just because the circle is not showing. Just don't leave the queue area.
