only a newbie driver, but the common thing i get from riders is they prefer using UBER over cabs. 2 points : price and quality of car/drive. ALL say its cheaper than catching a taxi, AND BETTER. In my opinion ( and also as a regular rider) the public would still use UBER if rates were 10-20 cent/km higher. they are still getting a great service , and would still be cheaper than taxi. for most riders it would be less that $1 extra on top of what they are paying now as alot of short trips home from shops, bus stops etc etc
