I was on a UberEats delivery picking up at Applebees, and I asked the server about Grubhub, because I had just signed up with them, and I was wondering what she thought of GH? She said "I don't like Grubhub". I asked her why. She told me that when they get an order, there is no way to tell GH about how long the order is going to take to prepare? ( so that GH can dispatch a driver when the food is ready ) but Uber DOES. "So", I said, "You're getting drivers arriving too soon, and they're having to wait a lot"? I asked. "Yeah, and it's really a problem having drivers come and complain a lot, all day long".
"good to know" I told her. However, on the other hand, if GH stacks deliveries, (adding more time for order preparation ) it might work out okay, so I'd like some feedback by GH drivers what they think about this.
Also, with UBer, I'm guessing that most restaurants probably underestimate the time, ( most people do ) because I've arrived on an UE delivery and still had to wait, but it's rare that I had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes. But, I'd rather work for UE if UE, in the ordering process, allows the restaurant to tell UE about how long it's going to take to prepare the food, whereupon UberEats will try and dispatch when the food is ready for delivery, and not too much sooner. ON a good day, I won't be waiting hardly at all. On a bad day, those waits can really hamper your earnings, but at least Uber is trying. Grubhub is not, apparently.
