Ive really just come on board, completed my 50th trip last week. Only play in the Western Sydney as I am still trying to make heads and tails of the apps short comings. I took 2 trips from out west into the city last week and the app went into meltdown as the streets were closed down for events, ended up going into google maps to find the destination.
Im doing well, but I swear most if not all the westie drivers go to bed around 12 am.
Thank you all for being here....

Welcome - from a not so new anymore newbie. :)
You can choose a different navigator from within the app. You can make it default to Google Maps if you prefer, or (my preference) Waze. 99.9% the street closures for Mardi Gras were in Waze so I had no issues on the weekend.

I am using an Apple Iphone, I have heard this swapping of maps can only be achieved on an Android. Is this true?

We've found Uber technical support!
Consistently good instructions, as long as you see the same thing she sees (different updates and app versions) :D
Hi RC, so as an experienced Uber Driver what do you use? and do you use it exclusively, or do you switch back?
I just watched a video that had the guy using Waze but had to switch back when he got close to navigate to the pin.

For the ease of operating, I just stick with the Uber navigation.
It's good enough for me, no switching Nav apps and the pax have exactly the same display as we do...

Btw, welcome aboard, have fun, try to find a real gig and drive safely.

Welcome Warhammer !
Are you a uni student?
I wish, put me back in School and I would be like Rodney Dangerfield in Back To School..LOL
I am just a guy trying to be more self sufficient. I have an online business and drive trains, but when I found this my attitude has changed to what is possible.

Use trial and error until you find what works for you. I used to use Waze until it sent me on a car ferry (cabarita), but the main reason was that it sets you up sometimes for some really difficult turns in traffic. So now I just go with the built in Google maps that the app uses.

It's rubbish (not updated with CBD road closures etc) but these days I know where I'm generally going so am less reliant on it.
Thanks RC turned off ferries in waze
