A few days ago I got a pool request, I only take pools when I have the DF on. I was determined to cancel if the trip was less than 10 miles, it ended up being an airport run from South Jersey (25 miles), so I took it. I normally stop accepting request when I take a Pool but since it was 5 in the morning, I didn’t think I was going to get matched to another rider.

When I’m entering the WWB ramp I get another ping from Gloucester City, I just ignored it because I was already on the bridge (I wouldn’t take it anyways) lol, turn on the “no disturb” feature on my iPhone so I don’t get calls from pax #2, his name is Joey, by the way.

Can you believe that when I arrived at the airport and drop off pax #1, Joey texted me: ”Pasaste el lugar” which means in English: “You passed the place”. Love it! I just did him a favor and canceled the damn trip, he was probably hoping that I was still going it pick him up.

I wish everyone that pooled to the airport misses the flight...

ecarpio Did the app auto accept the second pool rider? It doesn't usually give me any choice to decline the subsequent pool pax.

I agree though, you couldn't just throw it in reverse on the bridge to go back and pick up the other rider.

And did the Uber text automatically translate that for you? I see your 2nd screenshot reads in english. Just my curiosity.

Pool to and from the airport shouldn't even be an option. When I do pool, seldom, I hate the number of airline attendants and pax who use it. I only let a few regulars put anything in the back of my little SUV on a pool ride and I'm getting really annoyed with the luggage thing. Then again I'm really annoyed and burned out with Uber anyway

Yes, the app automatically added Joey to the trip. You're right, drivers cannot decline a matching pool.

Honestly, I swear I read that in Spanish the first time. Joey could of texted me in English though, I don't think the app will translate texts. I speak Spanish so I probably got it mixed up. My brain ain't fully functioning at 5am.

I would have taken the second passenger! Even if it means crossing the Walt three times. You get $5 each time you cross the bridge, so you'd get $15 and only pay $10 in tolls. It doesn't charge the passengers extra if the pool is matched

I 'liked' every post complaining about Pool to the airport. It's a personal pet peeve of mine.

I fly a decent amount in my full time role. And Uber really is just cheaper than having my car sit at the airport. But even if you can afford Frontier or some budget airline. You can afford the $3 extra dollars for an 'X'. Just stop being the cheapest possible POS in the world people.

i would not have been so eager to recross the bridge to get another pax as nick...but while crossing bridge CC pool connected. i would have went to get them. ..either order x or throw me a $20... but asking us to stop and lose money so you can go to phl cheap is wrong.
let them do that at thier job.
i dont get pools..but i did

I live in South Jersey. If I start my day with the DF set to somewhere Philadelphia and got a pool to PHL, I'D be happy. It means my bridge toll is paid and I get an airport pax on the way out. Good start to the day.

Workforfood . Makes sense in your scenario. But there's gotta be some common sense logic to not pair a driver with a pax once they're past a point of no (reasonable) return, such as on or approaching a bridge.

Just like there also needs to be better express pool logic, to not expect us to pick up the rider in dangerous locations. There is no distinction made between safe street corners, and a corner entrance turning into a shopping plaza on a busy road.

tradedate ..the whole thing is messed up like a sefflie picts. on us where it says must stop car.
it needs to say . move to a safer pickup spot..
workforfood..
i am from N.E philly the worst place for long trips and phls...starting from south jersey to phl on pool is great. you get maybe nice rebound too. and the start of your day is nice...i must plan on which way i go...phl from N.E is waster of d.f for me. i save for later

I found that after you accept the pax you can cancel the DF and not waste it
