I'll be interested to see what their take rate on me was last night.

You need to stop looking at what Uber "takes". That should have no bearing upon driving. If the money you receive works for you then do it, if not then don't.

I did very well last night. I'm not complaining.

Just idle curiosity mixed with a bit of vengefulness in hoping I put them over the Deliverance log.

the app tells you what the reservaion time is. why on earth would you go 30 mintutes early unless Uber blocked you from receiving more pings; did they? If so then you have a valid complaint. as far as taking a week off Id be all for that but most drivers don't have the guts, or cant affortd to do that.
When nobody else takes a reservation, Uber assigns it to the nearest driver.
It is easy to miss if you are driving.
I stopped taking reservations because they want me to log on to the app 45 minutes before the reservation, and then they give me something that moves me away from the reservation & cancel me or they direct me to the house 15 minutes early. It is lose/lose if you play Uber's games. Make your own rules.

The most i got was 18 dollar surge and it was a ride going to hilton lbv from magic kingdom. And something happened on Universal blv it was closed off
Uber and Lyft are scammers. You think you are making money then you find out down the road that the new car you purchased today is useless in about 4 years with the amount of miles you put on it So whatever money you made goes right back into that car, either for repairs or buying a new one

My last fare of the day was a cluster **** on lyfts account. Not even new years Eve busy crap either because it was honestly pretty slow, considering it was new years day at 8:00 am when I picked them up.

These folks spent an hour trying to get a lyft from disney world at 7:00 am...

3 drivers cancelled on them between 7 and 8 and they got pissed off and asked the bellman what to do.

He called them a cab and I came over from the next hotel over and picked them up no problem.

"Can you take us to..."

"YES SIR!"

"...universal studios."

Pretty good fare, $34 on the meter and $44 with tip. I can't even figure out why no one wanted to take them. It went from disney world to Universal studios so no tolls, like a 20ish minute drive. So it's not like I was taking them to the middle of nowhere where the driver would have to deadhead.

Like this sort of thing is happening so often i'm hearing something similar every day I drive.
If people are cancelling, they have the inability to process incoming requests and make sound decisicons. I don't know that I have ever accepted a ride that I regretted due to failure to evaluate it in the few seconds given to do so.

I have never taken a "reservation" and I never will. The few added requirements for reservations seem like they would be a total inconvenience to the driver. Not to mention that I'm not driving 10 or 15 miles to ANY pick-up destination. And I'm not turning my app on 45 minutes early just for a reservation ride. They should just go on and delete that option from my Uber account 'cause it ain't happenin'. 🛑❌🚫

the new car you purchased today
Those folks are doing it wrong.
Your argument makes eminent sense. When I drove Yellow Cab, the company never bought new cars.

Mostly, the company bought retired police cruisers, vehicles that had an average of 150,000 miles on the odometer before their first Yellow Cab trip. Brought them into the shop, painted them yellow, installed the meter and radio and they were good togo.
