I drove for lyft and uber for over 5 years now and What ive noticed is we get paid less & less to do More & more and deal with lame ass excuses. I barely drive now BECAUSE IM TIRED OF THEIR CONSTANT LIES, ABUSE, THEFTS OF MY INCOME AMOUNTS AND SEVERAL OTHER NEFARIOUS CRAP. the app tells you what the reservaion time is. why on earth would you go 30 mintutes early unless Uber blocked you from receiving more pings; did they? If so then you have a valid complaint. as far as taking a week off Id be all for that but most drivers don't have the guts, or cant affortd to do that.

As a former rideshare i did learn those companies like Uber Lyft and any other gig app like delivering food or packages, we drivers have been used like baits. we have putt all the work and money and our lives in fire range
and unfortunate some of them paid the ultimate price and were assassinated by killer riders that used those platforms and that those platforms Uber Lyft and ANY other gig app are responsible for those dead drivers. but again they use those millions of dollars to buy a get out of jail free ticket just like the monopoly game, and they shift the blame on the drivers. and this B.S. will continue all because there are STUPID PEOPLE who still believe they are making money and also believe they are independent contractors when in fact they are NOT. drivers have NO CONTROL OF ANYTHING except to swipe the finger on the app and that is it, NO MORE. this topic has become an old topic because like i mention before, as long there is people willing to drive for ANY OF THIS APPS, eventually those gig companies will succeed once the feds approve the use of Autobots and the actual real human will be terminated.

The link i provided is a good example of what is to come in the near future and that you all learn who paid for that technology? YOU THE DRIVER . all that money those gig companies stole from you when they took more than 20%
from each ride or delivery. that is your hard earn money at work but you have NO COMPENSATION from of it.

So keep driving, keep digging your own grave hole, keep going in to debt deeper and deeper,
until your vehicle breaks down and then you will wake up and realize you are bankrupt and now you can NOT collect any unemployment because you were your own (Boss) and also that you wasted few years of your live and perhaps and a bad health condition because of the many hours you spend sitting behind the wheel and now your kidneys are possibly failing to function properly and much more.

Follow what i did .
I stop driving for those apps and become my own true INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR
AND NOW I AM ENJOYING THE PERKS . However is not easy and it is an uphill battle before you start enjoying your own perks, but if you put up with all the B.S. from Uber & Lyft or any of the gig apps ,
then you success will be much easier to reach and you will not regret it.
Just think outside the box like i did, my income now comes from the entertainment industry.
it has nothing to do with driving. perhaps you have other skills and put them to work.
like car mechanic? tax filer,? good at doing speeches? Landscaping? Music? what i am trying to say
be your own REAL BOSS and drop those gig apps and encourage your friends and family to STOP using those apps
if they need a ride perhaps you can do it for them and keep all the profits for your self.

My last fare of the day was a cluster **** on lyfts account. Not even new years Eve busy crap either because it was honestly pretty slow, considering it was new years day at 8:00 am when I picked them up.

These folks spent an hour trying to get a lyft from disney world at 7:00 am...

3 drivers cancelled on them between 7 and 8 and they got pissed off and asked the bellman what to do.

He called them a cab and I came over from the next hotel over and picked them up no problem.

"Can you take us to..."

"YES SIR!"

"...universal studios."

Pretty good fare, $34 on the meter and $44 with tip. I can't even figure out why no one wanted to take them. It went from disney world to Universal studios so no tolls, like a 20ish minute drive. So it's not like I was taking them to the middle of nowhere where the driver would have to deadhead.


Like this sort of thing is happening so often i'm hearing something similar every day I drive.

By my estimates, they are only offering quests and streak bonuses to good ants that are gold/diamond/platinum status.

This is a de facto way to control your drivers like employees, forcing them to have a high acceptance rating and low cancel rating in order to have a reasonable portion of the fare—a fare that is ours to begin with.

I’m taking notes on all of these things and reporting it to the FTC and requesting a full audit on both platforms.

It sure seems like they're punishing "cherrypickers" by denying them promos. I haven't received a Quest offer for two weeks. High AR drivers get vastly better promos.

What happened to the "freedom to choose" our work offers that the defenders of the status quo like to tout all the time? There ain't a whole of "freedom" taking place when I'm being punished for declining work offers that are bad for my bottom line.

There's too many Third World immigrants signing up to drive 24/7 for your boycott plan to work. By the time those immigrants get fed up and quit there's more than enough NEW signups to take their place. This has been going on for more than 8 years and will probably continue until either the robocars are ready or the govt finally cracks down on these a-hole companies.

Surge went up to $49. I was 1 mile away and it was $45. I got within the Surge area and the surge dropped to $19. You can’t make this kind of sliminess up.

Happens to me ALL the time! Uber is even worse. They have taken to saying I've attained a surge and then NOT giving me that surge on the next ride! I've called them on this multiple times and I'm thinking of starting a class-action law suit because I'm CERTAIN it must be happening to everyone else as well.

No quests for me from Lyft. My acceptance rating is 6%. Only offered streak bonuses at 9pm and 12am. They are obviously offering good promotions to good ants, basically only offering a reasonable portion of the fare to drivers who allow themselves to be F'ed over on hundreds of other rides.

I'm Platinum on Lyft with 97% Acceptance Rate* and I got no promos except the Streaks you mentioned.

They weren't giving anyone promos regardless of status.

Regardless I did well. I did Lyft Black only and did $560 in around 4.5 hours booked time. Little under 7 hours total.

I did notice that over the busiest part of town in Old Town Scottsdale that they were significantly stealing from the fare. So I left that area and drove the rest of the city. It’s weird, right over the busiest areas, they will have no surge and you have to drive a mile away to get the surge. This is problematic when they try to add a ride to your queue as you are dropping off, because the ride being added to your queue will have no surge or little surge, but you drive half a mile and get a $10 surge. Stupid logistics.

Why aren't you driving for Uber Black as well?
