There has ALWAYS had a 45 second delay from what we see and what the customer sees.Last night I was at LAX and I saw it go from white to 1.7x so I turned on the app and got 3 pings at base. I canceled them all. About 1 min later I get a ping for 1.7x
So I concluded that there is a delay between what we see on the screen and what we get. Not a huge delay, maybe like a minute.
But then when the ride was over I noticed they paid ME @1.7x but charged the pax 2.3x! So maybe the app went from 1.7x to 2.3x but I didn't get it because of the delay.
Maybe that's been the reason all along?
Also, if my screen shows 1.7x then that's all they can pay me. The fact that the pax gets 2.3x and I get 1.7x may be due to a delay that may be a tough bug to fix but even if I complain what could they say? You saw 1.7x so that's what we paid. Can't really argue with that. Looks like they are using the bug to their advantage.
BTW-- if they raise rates and do away with surge, this issue goes away

My point here's it's been done so long time that's a reason people are upsetting
about , fake surge/ surge for that riders/ not giving tips that are giving to the drivers

Last tip I will give you, DON'T CHASE THE SURGE!!!!! The computers know when rides come out and when they have come out of areas for the last several years. More than likely there is NO TRUE DEMAND and they are trying to get more drivers in the area TO PREVENT A TRUE SURGE.My point here's it's been done so long time that's a reason people are upsetting
